    People can go crazy and its just horrific but on the other side you have someone like James Zabiela who is very creative with his use of effects. If its well planned and you truly know what is going to happen then it can add to the dynamics of the music but if you’re just randomly pushing buttons and twisting knobs then it will sound shocking!

    I also find that people set the dry/wet levels completly wrong. It’s not necessary to have it 100% wet to sound good, a simple delay on 10% – 30% can sound amazing. That’s my personal prefence though and i’m sure people will disagree. Look forward to reading other people’s thoughts 🙂

    Exactly we all have to work! I think I have to leave it this year, I can’t justify 2 weeks in Miami followed by a week back at work and then off to snowbombing! My boss wouldn’t be happy.

    Definitely will book it early for next year around November. Its got ridiculously expensive the past week!

    You really can’t blame Guetta. It’s all Citroens fault and that dancing robot car.

    It’s difficult and requires a lot of work to get started. You need to build an online presence and know what music you want to focus on. Looking professional from the beggining is important and building a fan base is vital. It is also useful to have some money behind you to cover any costs you may need.

    Are you not Aware of the Plethora of Pubs that are Packed all over the Country (UK) Every Night of the Week with Bands playing Music from the 70’s;
    Admittedly we are talking about DJ’ing here; but my Uncles and Aunts are out Every Week now their Children have grown up; and are Re-living their Youth through the Music that is Dear to their Heart;
    When Mike (Original OP) mentioned the words ‘Rock Music’ I Understood him to Mean ‘Rock Music’; as Described in the Following Article from WIKI

    I didn’t think he was talking about Indie/Mainstream/Contemporary/Metal; etc; which seems to me to be Subjects that you are Touching On;
    If you Feel that DJ’ing is for people ‘Under’ the Age of 50 and 60 then you are Dismissing a Large % of The Market

    And I thought rock Music was invented my Limp Biskit 🙂

    The 70’s rock inspired the current bands of today. I saw AC/DC on their world tour and it blew my mind. You gotta change it up, if you play something from the 70’s then you will surpirse people and keep it fresh. Obviously your free to avoid status quo but thats just my personal preference 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback there. Definitely some good points.

    This is more of a project because it interests me a lot. I have got in to production but im nowhere near a level to release my own stuff and I don’t think I will be for a couple of years but we have no intention of releasing our own tracks, possibly remixes at the most.

    We have found a distributor and artist for artwork who also produced our logo.

    Obviously this can lead to DJ gigs but the idea is to be more involved in something we love, i’m not gonna lie that i’d love to be djing, producing at the highest level but its soo unlikely plus I love my day job. I hope it goes well and thanks for the responses.

    Mine was Bizarre. I won a competition online to dj in a giant Igloo in Austria. I had to snowboard down without breaking my macbook (i’m terrible at snowboarding) and in the middle of my set Fatboy Slim walks in which was totally surreal. Very memorable and only one mistake but is an amazing memory that will remind me of my first set forever and so much fun!
