Thanks a lot, this helped. Checked with some of my friends in similar bedroom producer/dj situations, they too told me to stick with the ddj-rb. Any feedback on the rekordbox software as a whole? Reviews, anything? Also would like something a bit more detailed about pulselocker. Thanks again!

Thanks for telling me about VDJ not supporting controllers in the LE version. I only use 4-decks in VDJ on special occasions, and where I play, there are only the LE versions available, so no chance of getting a controller license either. Looks like the Quad 4 is out for me because it doesn’t have proper Mixxx support either, and would fail. I’m gonna go for the Pro 3, I’ve heard it is better than the Pro 2.

I thought that the Pro 3 would be my best bet, but say I turn Virtual DJ into 4-deck mode while it is running on Pro 3. Then will it club two decks as 1, as Virtual DJ does with 4-decks? I mean you can cross-fade only between left and right, but alter eq/gain for all 4, in the software. So, like will the Pro 3 behave in the same way, EQ, gain and Cross-fading between Left and Right only, or will it shut down completely and refuse to work with 4-deck mode? I have no problem in using the mouse to control gain/eq changes individually for each of the 4-decks, but I want to retain the basic functionality of my controller while I crossfade between left and right, because these are tricky to do with a mouse. So if my controller treats the 2-left decks as 1 and the 2-right decks as 1, I will be fine. But if it starts showing errors or jumping around, I will go for the Quad 4. 2-deck DJing is fine there, as you said, so I ought to be fine working on that. I haven’t bought anything yet, and companies like Reloop, unfortunately, are not available on my store or are outside my budget, in case I bought it in USD off amazon. By the way, do all these controllers that you mentioned work fine on 2-deck as well?

Thanks for telling about the Quad 4.
