ParticipantHi Yaka! good job with the mashup! what DAW (Digital audio workstation) are you using?
in the buildups, it sounded like a key conflict. you may have to change the key/ transpose on either track/ acapella in future production. but well done! keep going! ๐

ParticipantI went with the S2 as my first controller, and all I can say is… wow.
Small and compact, sturdy, yet full of functions! Really user friendly, and stable.
I now own a s4, but i really miss the s2 as it’s a ย really good controller. ๐

ParticipantA lot of Nice logos here man!
Just make shure you go for something plain and simple. that way you’ll probably always like it.
“less is more”
keep spinnin! ๐

ParticipantIn Norway, the mixtrack pro is more expensive than the s4a. try to look for a better deal ๐
I’d go for the Behringer. The Mixtrack kinda gets a lot of ย “controller hate” and the s4A is more “pro”
My first controller was the Traktor Kontrol S2, which was a pretty expensive controller to be my first. Anyway,ย when i paid so much for the s2 (Equivalent to 676$, Norway is extreme), I kinda HAD to spend a lot of time on it! that was how i learned to DJ…
“the comfort of having a good product lasts longer than the comfort of cheapness”
or something like that. ๐ but when that is said, remember that the gear does NOT matter for being a great DJ! ๐
Keep spinnin!

ParticipantHi Tom! just started making beats myself. Chill song ๐
what DAW are you using? FL studio, Ableton, Logic?
keep making nice songs dude, you’ll get better for every song you make!
things to think about:
– Plugins; ย does my instruments/sounds/effects sound pro and original?
–ย Amp;ย many songs sound much more transparent with a so called “amp” witch basically is an effect you throw over the master of the song (or an individual instrument).
– Compressors;ย compressors can make yourย ย song louder, but do not overcompress! ๐
Need plugins? here’s a good link for finding great and FREE plugins:
And here’s a song i made. very sharp and not of the chill type but anyway, here:

ParticipantI think theres a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for everyone. I have tried Ableton, FL studio, Reaper, Music studio, Logic and Cubase and found out that ableton was the DAW for me.
I suggest you just try out a lot of DAW’s and go for what you felt was the best.

ParticipantACER ASPIRE! CRAP! DO NOT BUY AN ASPIRE! unless you’re convinced it’s good.
want a laptop with 1080 X 920 display, intel i5 processor, 6gb ram, 500 gb hard drive and alot of other nice specs with a 160$ discount?
yes you do… unless its an Aspire.
my Aspire sucks so bad you have to quit Windows explorer when you dj, because it uses 98 freakin’ % of your cpu usage.
WOOOT?
oh yeah, and did i mention that it won’t play your aiff tracks? Cus Aspire hates you, that’s why.
Acer support couldn’t help me, and it is impossible to install win7 instead of win8 of an unknown reason. :C
so.. be extremely careful with choosing an Acer Aspire
cheers! ๐

Participantoh, and if you can’t find out the issue, it might actually be your computer.
I currently use an extreemly dissapointing Acer laptop for my dj’ing, and everytime I take it to a gig, I have to end Windows explorer, so it doesn’t mess up. if I don’t, it’ll go crazy and unsync, guit or mute traktor :S
make shure your computer is alright ๐
Rubenzki
ParticipantI’m using traktor so I can’t speak for your serato, but I would say it’s a good oppertunity to learn to beatmix manually ๐
