The mic that I was using was defective…will need to purchase another one. I tried using my headphone and it worked…not great…but it did 😀

Got a quick question about the microphone setup on the Denon 3000.

VDJ setup input is microphone. I also made sure the sound card on my laptop is checked for Denon 3000. When I turn on the duck button for the microphone…nothing happens.

Any input?? Much appreciated and thanks in advance 🙂

Yes, I too am pretty short and from the asian pacific decent…my attitude makes up for me being so close to the ground! Hence I love to be grounded!! HAA!! 😀 Attitude is everything. It applies to any given situation in life 😉

I just started a dance event with a business partner. We opened up our 1st dance event in October 2012 in San Diego and no cover charge. We 1st approached the bar/club that we wanted to hold our event. We provided the music, people and they provided the venue. We wanted to test the waters, so to speak, for a few months. They are happy with what we are doing and bringing them business. We are doing a dance event in their bar once a month. On Feb 16th, we will start charging at the door and the money goes directly to us.

We are now in the process of opening another dance event in a different part of San Diego in a restaurant/sports bar venue. We will have our grand opening on March 16h. We will also be doing the dance event once a month in their venue. We provide the music, people and they provide the venue. We are charging at the door.

Remember, approach it as, you are bringing the bar/restaurant/club a business by bringing them customers. You shouldn’t have to pay anything to the bar.

I had no idea from October 2012 that I will be doing this…I love playing dance music and dancing!! And to be able to also get paid for it!! I am blown away how things are unfolding!! WOW!! 😀

    Goodluck!! 🙂

The keyboard is free as my good friend is lending it to me. I am learning how to play the keyboard. I got my keys cheat sheet on it. It’s so much fun. 🙂

Hey everyone! I play in San Diego. I partnered w/ a couple of ladies who wanted a dance event every month. We found a club/bar that would allow us to use their venue. Our first dance was my first public gig. 100 people showed up and I was nervous!!! We have been doing it since October 2012. Currently we are not charging at the door. Our next dance event will be Feb 16th and we are going to start charging. The club/bar owner really likes our events. He gives us constructive feedback every-time we do an event.

Now, we are in the process of starting another venue in another part of San Diego where we will also do a once a month dance event.

I am super excited!! So much to learn and loving it!!!

Hmmm, well my 1st public gig was free. I got into a partnership w/ a few ladies to start a dance event in a bar once a month here in San Diego. The dance events were free of charge at the door. We wanted to test the waters w/ the local community on how it will turn out. So far good!! 4 months later…next month, Feb 16th, we are charging at the door. 80% of the money that will be collected from the dance will be paid to me. Another venue just signed me to a paying gig on Feb 9th. 3 hrs long @ $250, so I guess this will be my 1st paying gig…I am really excited and blessed to find this passion of dance music and being able to share it with others as I continue to learn…and getting paid is FUN too!! 😀

( sorry for bad english, not my mother tongue)

For me what I did first is to get to know what software I want to use. Since VDJ is free to try, I went ahead and tried it out for a week or so. Then, based on the direction I wanted to go w/ portability and simplicity…I decided to purchase Vestax Typhoon.

If you want a controller that has hot cue’s on it, I believe there’s different affordable controllers out there. I use my laptop for the hot cues. I have it mapped so that I can access it.

I upgraded to VDJ Pro. It works fine when I DJ in the club/bar w/ the Vestax Typhoon.

Goodluck and more than anything keep it simple for yourself and have fun!! 🙂

Hey there. I bought the Mixtrack and returned it because it felt too plastic for me. Functionality, it works great, however with what I had in mind of keeping everything compact and be able to place my laptop and controller into my bag, I got the Vestax Typhoon w/ VDJ. I have had it for 6 months now and I love it. I use it for when I DJ in a club/bar and works great! Have fun!! ::R♡CKY::

Hey all!! Learning from my 1st gig, I listened to the ladies what kind of music they wanted to dance to. So last night, I had a bunch of music that I know they will all love and for my 2nd gig, it was AWESOME!! The club/bar was packed!!! Everyone was jumping around and dancing and singing!! I was and AM still HIGH from it!!! Then, to top it off, I got this napkin message from one of the patrons….WOW!!!
