I’m not an expert but if i were in your Position I would get something which helps me either way. Ie if your Laptop or your Controller breaks. So since you have an iPod i would probably choose an iPad DJ-Controller since you can also use most of them with your Computer and in Case your Laptop breaks you are still able to Play on your iPod with the Controller. So either way ( if your Computer or Controller gives up on you ) you would still be able to deliver a decent performance.
