ParticipantTough choice then! I would definitely do option 1 or 2 though. I think if you’ve only got 300 to spend unless your sound equipment is totally totally awful it shouldn’t be your top priority

ParticipantI see your thinking about traktor, are you sure the devices you’re talking about come with pro? I’m not saying they don’t I have no idea but worth double checking.
Fuck the bar owner who says it’s a cheap beginner one, yes it is an entry level controller but I’ve got a friend who plays out at big clubs regularly and had a decent slot at glade festival who uses one so whether it is entry level is irrelevant. If you’re only getting an s2 to feel and look more professional then get the f1 instead. How your kit looks is not important.

ParticipantIf you’re just starting to play out I wouldn’t invest in any extra controllers or effects units yet, I thought I’d be using all my loops and effects when I first started playing out but have done 5-6 gigs now and still haven’t tried anything more complex than just straight mixing. Feels a lot more intimidating when there’s a crowd.

Participantha I see! No not a pinball machine it’s a clip of a back door opening that I cropped!

ParticipantYeah I was reading into that but it said you’re only allowed pre approved sounds on there

ParticipantCheers guys, I think I’m going to wait and see what the promoter wants played before I decide for definite. The gig last week was Wolfgang gartner and he just let me do my own thing completely for that so we’ll see what he says about this one.

ParticipantI am. Live in Brighton, started playing out recently – got booked to play with Wolfgang Gartner this weekend! Play bass / funky, garage, electro, breaks.

ParticipantCheers Terry, really appreciate the feedback. I probably could have spent more time selecting the right sounds but really wanted to get something completed and feel I’d achieved a finished track so maybe rushed certain things. Will take that on board and hopefully have a new track out soon

ParticipantI find there is usually a 4-8 bar section somewhere at the beginning that you can loop and bring in that way, I use way shorter mixes than with other genres
Prude leRude
ParticipantMost clubs should have a mixer set up already that you can plug into as long as you have an external soundcard and the right cables.

Participantalso sorry should be off topic probably!

ParticipantApologies to moderators if this counts as advertising? I won’t post about it further, just trying to get initial feedback on the idea..
