MemberYou are absolutely right. I have been out of the scene for too long and it seems that as I venture back there seems to be inundation of crappy tracks. But I should not have made that sweeping statement.
Thanks for correcting me.

MemberProgressive house should be called Regressive House these days.. there is is hardly any progression in the tracks.. unlike some of the Sasha, Digweed masterpieces of many years back.
And electro house has no soul? not as in a soulful sound but it was not made with soul and passion. erm well… lets just leave it at that..

MemberI think harmonic mixing is important in trance or any genre that is melody driven. Like Phil, I love harmonic mixing because it has allowed me to do more creative mixes like layering a breakdown on top of another one so they seem to be like one.. or 3 minute mixes for example.

MemberYes Hessler. Thank you so much for your help and kind words about the mix. I will be sharing more mixes on the forum and please do feel free to comment and exchange pointers.
I am still in the midst of tweaking many things on the MC3000 and I just want to add something to this thread that I hope will contribute to anyone searching.
1) I have taken away the “soft takeover” option for all EQ, Filters and Effects knobs. This helps in giving you better control over the sound. I noticed for the soft takeoveharr option, the bass hardly comes in between 7pm to 9pm but it comes in really hard between 11pm to 12pm.
2) In order to make the jog wheels resemble more of the Pioneer CDJ variety, I have reduced acceleration to 0% and increased sensitivity from 10% to 20%.
Cheers and a good weekend to all 🙂

MemberHi Hessler,
Many thanks for your patient help. Everything is working fine now and I just recorded my first mix successfully.
I really appreciate your advise while I was transitioning from CDJs to controllers. Many thanks.
Here is the link to my maiden mix on the MC3000 🙂

MemberIts easier on the CDJs or controller. Cos you can see the % changed

MemberKeeping one hand on the pitch fader frees up the other one to do effects or EQ.

MemberThanks for sharing. It is my personal preference to mix while monitoring the incoming track. It sort of gives me the feel on how to execute the transition.
If it makes sense 🙂

MemberLearn to eventually beat match using only the pitch faders. It really helps when u need to do small corrections when you are in the mix
Prototype1
MemberHi Frosh,
How do you monitor the incoming track with all the EQs at 0?
Prototype1
MemberThe channel faders do not affect the sound at all when I am on the external mixing mode.
Yes I have run set up, chosen MC3000 and external mixer.

MemberHi Hessler,..
Thank you for your suggestion. I uninstalled T2 and reinstalled in again. It worked somehow… Dont ask me why
Its currently on Traktor default settings and not Denon in the controller manager and under the Internal Mixer option. Although everything works fine but it still sounds funny to me… It sounds better under the External mixing option but the channel faders do not work..

Member
Did you test the .tsi that is in T2Pro? Yes I have. I imported the file from the Controller Manager page.

If you run the setup and chose Denon MC3000?? I chose Denon MC3000 from the drop down list after I imported the tsi file.

That is the current one that Denon recommends and it should work….Also did you update Traktor Pro 2 to the latest verion?? It should be the latest version as I just purchased the upgrade over the weekend. In any case, I have just gone to the service centre to do another update. However, I have not updated anything under the Driver or Patch downloads because the instruments named sound like NI controllers such as S2/S4, X1 and Audio 2, 4, 6

Thanks
Denon: MC6000, S37000, X1700, HP1000. QSC: K-12, K-Sub. Macbooc Pro.Prototype1
MemberThank you Hessler for your kind patience. Its seems that all I needed to do was to input the serial number into the Service Centre to upgrade from LE to T2.
Do you know of where I can download the midi mapping for the MC3000? I tried the default one that was provided but the channel faders and the monitor cues and volume do not work. I tried doing it manually myself via the Controller Manager but it is not working for some inexplicable reason.
The Traktor manual that was provided does not mention what to do about this.
Once again, many thanks for your kind help!
