Great mash up and I can see myself playing this track over wine. Let me also say that I have not heard both these tracks but I have other tracks from these 2 producers. Sky and Sand from PK and Le Champagne from Trentmoller.

This slightly quirky, experimental, subdued and yet elegant style that creates longing and melancholy in the listener is more reminiscent of PK.

Good attempt and keep them coming buddy 🙂

I see myself listening to this on the beach with a mojito in hand.. Great track!

Personally, I will prefer a tighter bassline and punchier kick drum while limiting the dubstep bassline. But this is just me.

Love the originality of sampling the door and background sounds of sea gulls calling perhaps?

    Keep it up buddy 🙂

    Hey Davis,

Firstly, let me say kudos for a job well done. The transitions felt natural and seamless and they segue into the next track really well. I liked the fact that you took the energy level down on the 4th track by introducing a long breakdown. The ability to be able to vary the energy levels is a sign of a good DJ. Your listener ends up feeling like he has gone on a journey. I felt you were trying to do this within the time limited scope of 10 mins.

Let me add a suggestion but I will to first qualify that I do not know much about electro to be honest playing deep, prog and tech house myself. I will suggest that you try and vary the vibe by exploring tracks that are deeper and darker. I believe this will add greater depth and texture to your mixes which are already very good! But I think it will take it to the next level. One suggestion is to perhaps explore some techno/tech house.

Keep ’em coming buddy! Good job!

So more insight on the music being commoditized would be helpful for me to understand more about why Pop / Commercial-EDM is becoming so “break free” and iconized.

I mean in the Eurodance 90s we had acts that were “hated” by the underground like “DJ Bobo”. But I got to meet the guy once then, he was very humble, totally cool guy and he actually had a theme for all his albums (except the first one) with a stage show to go with, huge choreography etc. but still he was trying new things, he had breaks, passages and even un-dancable tracks on his albums. Yes he had also the usual dance hit for the single on each album, but some things were underrated by the haters.
Several of todays acts now go into really 100% me all the time mode for a whole album. Some songs I even like the melody or basic tune (even some FloRida and Pitbull tunes), but they destroy it by “machine gunning” the song to death. Hell even Skrillex has breaks in his songs… but they don’t.
Is it really the impatience of the people, that they cannot even enjoy a whole song? Do they expect that people anyways listen only to 2 songs per album and that is it? Is this probably why I get the feeling when I go to our cool Opera house in town to see an Opera that I think 90% of the people are only there to “be seen and to see who is there” and actually feel relief during the break? (Yes I know wrong forum, but it fits and my music taste is diverse… I can go from industrial to vivaldi in 5 songs when I have an evening of music for myself hehe)

4 Seasons by Vivaldi is a must listen for those in the progressive scene or looking to build a set that aspires to take the listener on a journey! Thumbs up buddy!

Stick to the music you love but be open to new forms of music. That is the way to improve.

Look what Eminem has done for rap with his experimentation with new genres.

Vary the style in one mix to show your versatility. Do not be afraid to throw something different or eclectic into the mix. That can really make a mix stand out and be the defining moment if pulled off the right way.

I used to put breaks or tribal in, in the midst, of a progressive set 7 to 8 years back. I now play some soulful and funky house after going techy for a while. Just some suggestions. Try it and I hope it helps 🙂

NI has replied and the problem has been solved. Essentially, the panel on top disappears in Traktor 2.5 when the 4 deck mode is engaged due to a lack of space.

The way to solve this is to go to Deck Layout, Deck Layout and switch Deck C & D to Small. 🙂

Thanks Michael. Audio is fine. It was just that the screenshot was sent when the controller was not plugged in. However, this is the same screen that I get when the controller is plugged in, ie no FX and no Record button.

I have emailed Denon numerous times and they have not replied to me. very bad service

I have tried re importing the mapping many times and I still get this same “look” on Traktor where you cannot even see the record button or effects knobs on the software. Any ideas?
