when you go pro, i guess you never go back to 2 deck mixing anymore right? I tried to use 4 but my controller (ERGO) can do 4 but the interface is messy on VDJ especially when my controller has deck a turned down while deck b the settings don’t match what’s going on the ergo if that makes sense.

lol it is hard enough as it is trying to mix properly with VDJ and to start from fresh with traktor i’m already burnt out as it is!

Jealous though that there are some features in traktor I would LOVE in VDJ … that and there are no tutorials on youtube for VDJ as much as traktor grrrr

whatever practice makes perfect i guess

hey Ernie Sega! I noticed you are in the Ontario region, be great to chit chat with another DJ that’s going through the same steps as me especially when you’re my age with the same martial status! Even though we are both looking to get our stardom on but be nice to have someone to talk about these kind of things.

^ hm that sounded messy at the end :S I can understand looping the main beat then mixing the other songs into it, but it was kind of clashing at some parts of the video.

unless my ears aren’t trained 😛

I like to chime my two cents in as this is a great topic!

Like OP I’m going through some social issues but that is because I’m a working full time 60 hours a week trying to get my business going. But there was that one day where I messed with some professional’s equipment when he was on break and the pool party crowd started loving it. What shocked me was the comments I got afterwards when I was kicked out by the actual DJ when he realized I was stealing his thunder!

“Dude that DJing what is what we needed man! Seriously we should call you DJ Extreme!”
“Wow that music selection was the best I’ve heard on this resort! Seriously their DJ should retire lol!”

And this is me at 27, and I haven’t dj nada ever in my life! I think reactions like that just keep me going and even though I have yet to get a similar reaction because I don’t have a gig yet, I’m going to practice my darnest best so when the time comes. I will be there to truly appreciate it!

I can score a DJJ ERGO for 420$ on kijiji … comes with box but no receipt so I’m wondering if I have warrenty issues would I have trouble? Or saving $143 off the label price is not worth it? Has ERGOS had troubles breaking down from anyone’s experience?

EDIT: SWEET SCORED a ddj ergo for 350$ BLACK !!!! and he is a club owner too, perhaps i can spin there once I get good enough 😀

yeah I don’t mind learning new software (shit I learn new things everyday in my field of work) so right now it seems that I managed to score a used mc3000 on kijiji. Guy is asking 400$ for it but I’m going to see if he can budge if he doesn’t have the receipt hehe… since no receipt no warranty which scares me a bit…

there was a ddj ergo for like 500 but the guy wouldn’t go under 480 so… i’m still shopping on the used market 😛

ya phil morse had a good suggestion… before starting your session just give your computer a reboot, then when it is done rebooting just load what you need for DJIng and nothing else… that includes wifi off.

ya i was comparing the denon mc3000 at one point, but my first experience with VDJ kind of made me bias towards the pioneer products. Although I wouldn’t mind relearning how to use different software if it claims to be better than the competition…

nothing worse than buying a we-go then thinking, “Damn I should have shelled the extra 200$ for something better.” I will continue shopping I guess… just want something long term than just djing in my bedroom for life.

^ very interesting post!!! thank you for the insight, I didn’t realize the soundcard made that much of a difference compared to the external equipment like speakers and amps!

its cool that the WEGO satisfied 500 people, whoa I’d be lucky to get 20 people to dance 😉

oh in Canada what web site is the best to get one of these? seems like 299 is the standard pricing but was wondering if there was a store in Toronto to snatch one up without waiting for delivery 😛
