MemberThanks. I looked at that controller, amongst the many and will now go back and revisit its reviews. One thing for sure, Terry, whenever I do finally make my decision and purchase, there will be some crazy, rambunctious musical jubilation going on around here for a couple of days (and nights) straight! Whomp! Whomp!

MemberThank you, both. It’s great to hear from others with greater experience. Much respect… : )

http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/11/review-video-vestax-vci-400-dj-midi-audio-controller/It is a really good unit. With the new firmware you can also use it as a standalone mixer, which was not possible at the time of the review.
Thanks again, Terry_42. I still haven’t made a move. Its looks pretty complex for an intermediate user like myself and I see there is no booth out. (Sure would like to get off this fence, though, especially where the software choice is concerned!)

MemberVirginia is very strict on the age 21 alcohol consumption rule, but they ID and arm band everyone at the door, enabling 18 yrs and up to go in clubs, but not drink. I hope your state does the same thing. That would enable you to do your thing without consuming alcohol. Good luck…

MemberI’ve got to have my EDM; give it to me eletro, techy, soulful, deep, ambient/chill, jazz, new age and world. But oh! I get r&b party requests to spin lots of urban line dance music– they love a perfect undetectable restarted mix of those line dance songs AD INFINITUM! And digital beatmatching makes it such a breeze… I tire ’em out and keep ’em happy! : )

MemberThanks Terry 42 for the welcome. Yes, when I grow up I plan to convert a few things from those LPs to incorporate into my mixes. Meanwhile, I think I’m about one click away from buying the Vestax VCI-400. I have read DDJT’s Controller buying guide several times and have been looking at video reviews about it… and given some other skills I’ll have to hone, looks like I’ll be able to go either way, VDj or Tracktor with that one, plus I like it ruggedness and other features I can grow into. I’m all about growth at this stage. Figure I can play with that one for a few years. Can you tell me exactly where DDJT’s video review of it is? Can’t recall if I saw it or not. Thx, Terry 42…and happy Moderating!

MemberThe BPM Expo in Birmingham, UK, Oct. 6 through the 8th? Geesh, I need a new controller now, but was trying to hold out for the new VDJ release to see what else might accompany it. Dunno if I can wait that long!

MemberI totally agree with Mike_Easy about picking your own name. As a Creative, it is sooo important for you to arrive at your own name, just as you have arrived at your own style, Indamix. Think of who you are, what you do, how you think, your music history, your appearance, your speech, YOU– period!!! What are you about? What do you want to DO with your music? You are uniquely–you. Just think, you had no choice in your birth name, but you have the choice in your DJ name– go for it– in an equally creative way!
Naw!!! I don’t think “Pranse” is it. Don’t force it! Relax about it.
