MemberAlrighty! Let’s try this baby out. I don’t know if I should do a full install on this computer and use up a license code or run a demo and wait to get my new comp and install it at that time. I remember reading that you can only register 2 computers so i’m not sure if installing the full version on this one is a wise choice (as i installed a full version on my last mac).

MemberI agree. I have less than 100 songs in my library currently and have already encountered a few songs that had a horrible beat grid.

MemberWhat i’m actually trying to do (at least while I start off and get the basics down) is focus on one piece of software before I venture off into combining different ones. I feel pretty confident to invest a little more than the Mixtrack Pro if in the long run it gives me more flexibility.
So it’s either:
Ableton with APC40
or
Traktor or Serato with TwitchI don’t see a need for jogwheels in my case! :p
After weeks of going back and forth, comparing, reading reviews, watching videos, I feel like one of these two will be the final choice. I won’t buy anything until I’m confident in my decision.
As for now, I’ll be watching the video’s you all have posted, become more familiar with both options, and keep watching the threads!

Memberthanks buddy. I’ve been watching some videos online of the apc 40 in action with ableton and it looks fantastic. The Vestax is hard to find online and a bit more expensive. Just keep me posted on how DJing goes.

MemberIf I do end up going this route: APC 40 + A2DJ seems like the PERFECT setup.

MemberBingo Players Cry is a no-go on my list, because of the vocals. The track itself is pretty good but when I heard the vocals I felt like I was playing dance dance revolution. I try to keep an open mind but this one just doesn’t cut it out for me.
The chuckie remix of notorious is tight. First time I hear it.

Yea, checked it out. I wouldn’t even put it in deep house in my book but it’s good. I see how it’s an opening track though.
