Personally, I don’t trust the sync button. Hence, I never use it.

Beatmatching is about ear and not eye.

I use a DVS system, and I still beatmatch by ear. I’ve seen DJs who have learned the craft by using all kinds of DJ software, rely on the beatgrids of their laptop screens. Yes, It is easier, but what if the DJ playing before you, is using vinyl? There will be no beatgrids and/or the BPM of the track he is playing. In the end, it will still all come down to the basics of this craft.

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with learning through software. But there will come a time in certain situations, that you have no choice but to beatmatch manually.

    Anyway, just my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

My first pair was a Behringer HPX 2000. I broke those, and also it didn’t sound good at all.
My second pair was a Sony MDR V700. Broke those too but the sound was alot better.
I’m currently using a pair of Technics RP DH 1200s. I’ve had the same pair for more than 4 years now, these cans are built like turntables, they never get old. Even the sound quality is just the same as day one!
Right now, I’m thinking of getting either the Sennheiser HD 25-IIs or the TMA-1s.

Got tired of having to burn CDs almost everyday. Also, buying vinyl is way too expensive nowadays.

For me, it’s more of the portability and ease of going through all your music during a gig minus the heavy crates.

Since I use a DVS system. All I bring nowadays is my laptop, soundcard, headphones and a pair of vinyl or cds (depends on what gear the club/venue has).
