ParticipantWow, personally I think there is so much to think about with that idea.
- Let’s start with the obvious – The God Complex. This idea won’t help.
- Next, Where will all the gear go?
- How do you switch DJ’s – I see ‘Keystone Cops’ style on the ladder
- Let’s not forget nature – Where do you take a wiz! (Even more interesting for DJane)
- OK – you go for a wiz – but there is no one nearby nor brave enough to cover for you.
- If there’s a fire people will expect you to put it out. However, a fire might be handy if Number 4 happens.
- Finally – You will look like your standing in a wheelie-bin…………..

ParticipantCracking job mate – I really like it.
Good luck with the comp 🙂

ParticipantMixed in Key can automate that process for you and do it with a few simple clicks.

ParticipantThe article is brilliant but as you say doesn’t cover this topic.
Everyone always seems to assume that your main music collection is on the same machine as your DJ software.
Hopefully someone else is doing the same as me and can share their work flow?

ParticipantAs you are already an accomplished DJ the only thing that could make you stand out is to do something original and amazing.
It sounds as thou you’ve experienced most of what a normal club has to offer coz if you have truly DJ’d alongside those big names the producers of those events will no doubt already have done pretty impressive shows/events.
I think it’s time you locked yourself away and come out with one hell of an idea – never done before!
Good luck.If you’re not a creative person – then consider hiring in creative people.

ParticipantI’m gonna share my storey as I’ve just finishing addressing the same question you have.
I have my first house party in a couple of weeks and I kept asking everyone the same question you’ve just asked.
It wasn’t until I spoke to good friend of mine recently when I made my decision.
I was talking to my friend who is a bit of an audiophile and has a couple of really nice floor speakers – a bit bigger than the ones you just linked.
I was explaining to him I need some speakers for the upcoming party (of which he is coming). He said hey no problem mate you can borrow mine there back from the repair shop now. I said ‘Oh! Why is that’ Â He said ‘Dunno what happened but after the last house party I had they’d blown’ He had a DJ and usual mixer setup running.
Then a voice in the back of my head reminded me of the countless times I’ve listened to Phil in one of his videos and read in these forums NEVER to use HiFi speakers with DJ equipment coz they shred the speakers.
I pop onto Ebay and snagged a sweet pair of hardly used 15″ Mackie Thumps. Tested them last week at my mates yard and no matter how much drink we had they ‘Just Kept Going’
Anyhoo – just thought I’d share – it’s your call mate………………

ParticipantDoes adding a track list make people enjoy mixes more or less?
I’m not precious about the tracks I use – they are all readily available on Beatport.
