ParticipantInspired by your warm up set, i’m going to post a warm up set I did last Saturday when I played out for a friends Birthday bash.
Robert Murray
ParticipantOk, I think you guys are on to something here and if not at least I get to have a beer!
Robert Murray
ParticipantOK, ok I think you’re onto something there.
Let’s keep workshoping the problem, when we do this at work they tell me there is no such thing as a silly idea.

ParticipantI went for a good quality windows laptop – Leveno Thinkpad 14″ i7 cpu, 8gb ram, 128GB SSD hard drive.
As I don’t run anything else on it but my DJ software – it’s fast, stable and solidily built.Oh yeah – all that for £300 second hand on Ebay.
My friend is spending £700 in a 13″ macbook.
Both are quality but price was an issue for me 🙂

ParticipantI meant to say:
I am posting a link to the same mix in my Mixcloud account where people can get the track listing.

ParticipantThank you Terry, now I have been living my Rokits for a week my question feels a bit silly.
You’re right, they simply go into a power down mode after 30mins and wake up without interaction when they recieve a signal.
Personally my opinion is that they are much easier to live with that the Reloop WAVE-5’s I had. Also they are ‘for me’ an all round much nicer monitor – They are much more bassy than the Reloop’s so I’m sure they not everyones cup of tea.
But for me as a house music fan – they are an improvement and the recent price reductions of the Rokits make them a lovely speaker in my man cave.I don’t know why but they seem to have given my tunes a new lease of life and I’m enjoying them more (again)
I highly recommend the Rokits 6’s (which I have) to anyone looking for modestly priced a little bass heavy monitors.🙂

ParticipantAs I already have it – seems silly not to!
Robert Murray
ParticipantMy plan is to still have at least 2 devices connected to them – but via one of these. (Image is now obligatory)
🙂

ParticipantJuno Records are taking them back with full refund and did me a cracking deal on a pair of Rokit RP6 G3’s = 🙂
Love Juno….

ParticipantHere’s a link to a video I made of the problem happening. You’ll notice the LED goes off at the same time as the sound spike.
The loud click just after the sound spike is me clicking my fingers as I was chuffed to have caught the sound spike on video (after days of trying with my 60mins capacity video recorder).
I think I might send these back as well and request a refund.
Think I might be in the market for a pair of those Pioneer DJ05 monitors 😉

ParticipantI wonder if Phil Morse ever experienced this as he had them in his studio for a long time I think?

ParticipantInteresting.
I’ve double checked the power to these speakers and they do indeed come from the same power source, although that source is via a Belkin surge protector – could it be faulty? Dunno – it is probably 10yrs old or more.I’m not sure about the time of day it happens – or whether something else is happening in my house at the same time?
I’m going to start to monitor and log the times – also, gives some thought to what else is going on in the house at the same time. You are right about stable power in the EU. In the UK where I am, I get very stable power. I can’t even remember getting a power surge or failure (I’m in a good size city – Bristol) in recent times.
I posted earlier in the Reloop website and just checked again and other people are having the excate same issue. I wonder as I have had my monitors changed that this may be an inherient design fault that Reloop are not admitting to!
Below is a link to my Reloop support link.

ParticipantThe Reloop WAVE-5 monitors are supposed to be connected to more than one source.
They have 3 available inputs (XLR, TRS & RCA)You then cycle through them with the remote.
On the front of the monitor is an LED display to show which channel you are in. You can’t get 2 or 3 of those sources coming out of the speakers at the same time.

Robert Murray
ParticipantFunny – I was thinking the same thing.
No need to focus on your DJ’ing if you are excellent at mareketing yourself.
Of course a modest arounder is what is really needed 🙂
