ParticipantHas anyone figured out how to do this yet? Ive just renamed a few remix sets i have and of course i have duplicates now. Whats written above doesnt work. Surely there must be a way to delete whatever remix sets you no longer want? The only delete option i can find within the remix decks is delete cover.

ParticipantYea i thought Mixify might pull it direct from Traktor, which i prefer the idea of. Ive just got to set it up  now 😛
Will it then pull the signal through the pc soundcard, or direct from Traktor and through Icecast, completely bypassing the pc soundcard?
Cheers bud 🙂

ParticipantHi Rick.
Well Mixlr uses its own app to pick up the sound apparently (i use Traktor, and it bypasses it i think) . So im looping the sound out of my S2 and back into the PC soundcard via the 3.5mm
Mixify ive yet to set up ( i think it uses Icecast or shoutcast i believe).
Im using a desktop PC
3.5 quad core processor
Just a normal inbuilt soundcard on the mobo (hence the upgrade question)
Current “style” is 80s edits/reworks – from disco up to something such as new wave.
Also NuDisco.
No webcam.
Cheers for the reply m8 🙂

ParticipantHey
Ive recently done exactly what your doing now so ill give you my thoughts. I needed an upgrade and went for an S2.
I cant comment on the Pioneer so someone else below with have to give you their thoughts on that. I can tell you what i think about the S2 though.
The S2 is a great controller for the price (i got the Mk1 when the price dropped). It does everything it needs to do. It was the first time I had used Traktor and since ive learnt alot on it since, im blown away with the power of the software itself. I also got alot of remix decks samples free with the purchase too which i thought was pretty cool.
If i had my choice to make again, i would probably have waited an extra month, and gone for an S4, purely for the extra 2 channels, extra 4 cue points (8 – S2 has4). I believe it has extra inputs too, although i might be wrong there. The reason i would of gone for an S4 is because i like to use alot of sound effects, drops, loops within my mixes, and although the S2 can do it (using the remix decks) its alot simpler to do with the S4. Of course however its alot more money.
If you think your going to be mainly using the 2 channels only, i couldnt think of a better purchase to be honest though. The integration with the software is second to none as well as its NI own.
I use Audacity quite alot, and i see how you mean about using it as a workaround for recording and saving money, but honestly, id go Traktor instead.
Just my thoughts 🙂
All the best

ParticipantAha!
So now i understand! Thats m8 lol.
I thought it was me messing with the gains that was causing this issue, perhaps its just Traktor doing it wrong for me sometimes 😛
Yea i started years ago with vinyl too so im used to just using my ears and adjusting gain as i was beatmatching in my ears. Its this new software stuff thats completely new to me 😛 I just assumed it would and SHOULD do all that for me now 😛
Cheers again!

ParticipantThanks for all the replies guys, really appreciate it. I shall be looking for one shortly 🙂

ParticipantCheers for the replies guys,
So i get that the db showing can be random, depending on the recorded volume etc.
So technically if i have autogain on in prefs, once ive loaded a song, the 2nd, 3rd tracks etc should all be matched “volume-wise” yes? I shouldnt have to touch the individual track gains on the S2?
This is what im thinking “should” happen, but some of the tunes are very very different in volume, even with autogain enabled. Also when 1 is miles out of the red on the VU the next sometimes flies into the red straight away?
Or is this what Ruben was talking about with not trusting Traktor to autogain for u? 😛
Regards
Butt
