    I am currently with digitaldjpool.com

This is $1 for 5 days trial and then $12/month afterwards.

I signed up for the trial and one month just to see whether it was worth it

Can cancel at anytime (providing more that 48 hours before the next monthly payment is due)

Currently sifting through and downloading approximately ten tracks a day, to build the collection and listen to  new things.

Using Traktor demo now.  Hit the s and q buttons.  Now synced and quantized and snapped to beat and hotcues now working 🙂

I read Phil’s review and he mentions more about the three modular devices rather than the actual controller and while the overall review is positive there are perhaps a few little things to be wary of.  I use a behringer uca222 with Mixxx at the moment and have had no problems with that configuration (although I am really new to djing and finding my feet).   The behringer hardware is quite rugged.  I also have a behringer xenyx mixer and a guitar amp modeller, again all pretty rugged.  It appears that this contoller has all the features and more of professional gear but it appears very low cost.  It has a 4 output soundcard and 8 hotcues on each of the four decks, which seems over and above other decks that are considerably more expensive.  I just wondered what the difference in build/features was compared with something like a traktor S4 mk 2, which is 315 dollars compared with over 1000.

Didn’t realise that the Ableton Live 9 Intro was only AUD$99.  Might be worth giving the demo a spin and then paying for this and then upgrading to the standard later.

Thanks for the words of welcome.

Just that I have a full copies of energy-xt that came with a Behringer UCA222 audio interface and Behringer Xenyx 1002FX 10 channel mixer.

It seems a versatile package and appears to be compatible with all the free VST plug-ins that I’ve tried.

I wanted to see whether producing electronic music was for me and whether I could generate something ‘passable’ while learning some basic techniques, prior to investing in something more substantial.

    Cheers
