Another DCer, how goes it =D. A few of us are throwing a show on the 30th at The Electric Maid in Takoma Park….if you’d like to stop by and chat with us, we actually started our shows/ crew through this forum. Keep in touch.

1) If you don’t scratch, there’s no reason for you to have the ns7 II over the sx. Keep in mind the release price is going to be around 1500, which is a few hundred more than the SX. The ns7 II has advertised something about touch-sensitive knobs, but even so…… make your decision based on the platters.

Only difference is really the production of the kick, sometimes bpm and synth choosing sometimes not……. but don’t worry man, you’ve accomplished your goal. =D

I’ve jammed with guitarists before, and I’ve been putting my maschine into my kit more as of late…. it actually goes over pretty well. For instance, with a lot of Afrojack drops, it’s great to have all frequencies covered and add live performance mid/low while the high squeals are going off.

your mixer EQs at 12 (or a little less), adjust the house mixer accordingly….. then controller EQ from there.

Diggin’ the RTC sounding synth in the beginning and that I love that deeper kick first off. I will say though, I think this song has more of a darker hard trance than hardstyle feel…..but nothing wrong with that, I’d throw it earlier on in the set than say Zatox, but I’m still feelin’ the shit outta this. Also, I’d raise the volume on the ”Feel the Energy” clip to make it a little more pronounced.

For a first production, very impressive man. Look forward to hearing more, this track was very enjoyable.

For sound check I put my EQs flat in the middle and then level out with the stage mixer of the PA, so the room has a good overall sound. I then “freeze” the stage mixer and never touch it again, so the basic sound stays like this.
All the tricks and bells I do with EQing I do on my controller then…

This is how I do it as well for the most part. As the above posted mentioned, a room full of people is louder than an empty room, so I usually set my mixer EQs to about 40-45%, keep it there, and then as people funnel in slowly adjust to having them flat in the middle.

I’ve been getting more emails as of late from local djs/ ddjt guys looking to help out / spin, it’s great. Also, through our events / networking, Daryl got himself a show the 18th of March, I’ll be playing a festival late june and I’ve got some lighting work, and I’ve received a few sound/spinning offers from Bmore. We’ve got 7 acts confirmed for the 30th show, in addition to some extra lighting & bodies. Always looking to help others in the dj community, and DDJT has yet to disappoint me with caliber of djs. I’ve no hate for laptop djs (seeing as how after my transition from vinyl I haven’t looked back yet), but there’s so many wankers giving us a bad name syncing/ screen-locking. It’s great that we’ve an event showcasing digital skill and fresh new talent. Getting this message in my facebook inbox tonight made it all worth it;

”Will you be doing one more danceKraft or will March be your last before you leave ?

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or bad thing that DanceKraft is one of my top venues since I moved here.”

(He’s referring to the fact that I’ll be heading down to Ocean City Maryland in mid-April to work crazy hours so I can come back with a nasty light setup and my own sound to to expand the potential bookings for DanceKraft). Again, even though I will be heading out, DanceKraft will still be continuing monthly, and I’ll still be doing behind-the-scenes booking. I plan on coming down for at least 2 shows during the summer to play, and perhaps another just to mingle in the audience.

-Even if you doubt your skills or are just starting out, feel free to contact myself/ Daryl to express your interest. We’re always looking for assistance in promotion, and I personally don’t mind having jam sessions over my house/answering any digital dj questions so we can get you an opening slot/ hone your skills when it comes to DJing. Your presence on the forums alone shows me this is an art for you, and you’re about the music as opposed to being a center of attention. Keep in touch.

P.S.- Next set sounds like it’s going to be a little more gabber than hardstyle this time. You do PLUR? I blast evil and play with anger >;)

Hold off, practice my maschine / djing skills even more, and have gotten live 9 as opposed to logic. Harmony to midi looks tight, and the stock sounds seem decent enough now.

Backseat DJs annoy the hell outta me. Hey Daryl, jus’ sayin’, you need to play more of that DJ Shadow AND mainstream bangers to really get the ladies moving on our dance floor!

We could definitely incorporate some DnB hip-hop / glitch hop into our shows without problem, send an email my way after this event and we’ll see if we can’t get you out with us.

https://www.facebook.com/thisisdancekraft this is the DanceKraft team page. I’ve gotten a good 12-13 responses total for people looking to play, and we’re currently working on having a diverse lineup and hosting multiple events a month in order to accommodate all of the djs. I’m actually leaving DC in a month or so to work my ass off in OC Maryland, I plan on coming back with at least a 2-3 grand light setup and some DMX, so we can really take our shows to the net level/ start DanceKraft as a legitimate collective business. We’ll see how my plan goes this summer, god knows I’ll be dropping 1.5k the day the NS7 2 comes out (probably a little more considering I’m going to overnight it XD)

Ah nice, I have an aggressor myself, having 1 on each side of the stage would be pretty awesome. Last show we ran with a colorstrip, an aggressor, an eclipse, 2 micro galaxians, and I couldn’t tell you the fogger brand. I might be able to get my hands on 2 cubix 2.0s and 2 swarms as well for the next show, would be fun

Sounds great man, look forward to speaking with you there. If you’ve any lighting units you could bring out, there’s no such thing as too many lights =D (we’ve got a few micro galaxians, a color strip, an aggressor and an eclipse, but it can always been taken 1 step further) that’d be cool, otherwise bodies will do nicely. Also, it’s a BYOB and there’s a pretty cheap beer/liquor store right around the corner…..the venue I work with isn’t a bar or club so technically we can’t profit off of alcohol sales.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Dancekraft-Collective/153832201436179

We just finished up our group page. The long term goal of the DanceKraft collective would be to pour over into U St & Adams Morgan, ideally turning our monthly event into a weekly one at multiple locations. If you’re in the area, feel free to like the page and send an email to discipleofnietzsche@gmail.com if you are looking to get involved in the project. I was very satisfied with the DJs that this site has exposed me to thus far; in the last event I saw more skill behind decks than I’ve seen in most clubs around here.
