I use auto gain as a guide and 7 times out of ten it is fine. Adjustment is sometimes needed.

Here is the answer from NI…

~This is by design. The disengagement of Cruise Mode needs to default to a
“non-Cruise Mode” value. All faders go up. In a normal user case that should not be
a problem. It means after disengaging you are going to load a new track, check
your volume levels and then send it to the PA.~

The only 2 solutuions I can deduce from that reply is that I need a mic with a switch or flick deck d to a track deck before I turn off cruise mode.

I have the S4 flight case for that and my laptop and a hard suitcase for cables. my lights are still in original boxes so I need some roadcases for them eventually.

I would never be without a reception planner. It should be streamlined specifically for your use. It should contain a run sheet showing the schedule for each event (entry, dinner music, cake cutting, speeches, first dance, father bride dance, leaving), with each song listed next to each event during the night, the do not play list, the must play list. The age range of guests, The names of each person in the wedding party, the speeches part should have persons name so you can introduce if you are mc’ing.

Cupid Shuffle, Macarena, Electric Slide, I gotta feeling, shots, and any other incredibly generic song you can think of that has no soul.

Don’t laugh. these are serious suggestions. I’ll add grease mega mix, abba, timewarp, nutbush, Y.M.C.A, spice girls. rock n roll, 70’s disco (I will survive, stayin alive, oh what a night).

Another piece of the puzzle, in the video Hee posted, they mention bass frequency as being long, so some trivia…..
a single 100Hz sine wave is around 17 feet high and (17 feet) long!

MY wife and I work together. I call her my ‘roadie’ lol. except because she has a pace maker she cant carry the speakers, (magnets and pace makers are bad enemies). But song selection and working the decks so I can have break she does very well.

The sound starts at the magnet. and so you want all your frequency waves~ coming out of all your speakers at the same time. line em up baby!

Well, last night was one of those bad, bad nights. My wife and I working an 18th, had just got an hour into ‘cranking it up’ after two hours of laid back, when two guests found people outside tampering with cars (it was in a huge hall). They ended up getting a bottle smashed over their head and other got stabbed in throat with same bottle by the crims. The entire party of 100 people swarm outside. I turn off music as I thought it wasan internal fight. There were young children there as well, so while I am off finding out what was going down, my wife puts on some music for the youngies, which was a great idea. We then started music back up to get people back inside, but it turns out the police advised clients that the crims were part of prevalent and large violent gang that were coming back in numbers and party needed to end. Packed up in less than 10 minutes(record time). Party over at 10pm. It’s a sad world we live in.
