ParticipantUnderstanding of gain structure is one of those secret weapons you need in your arsenal of tricks. PFL monitors (like VU meters) will help you no end. Traktor Pro has PFL meters next to each fader on the mixer deck and are natively mapped as such. Compare these across the the strips that are running.

ParticipantThanks for the advice, I will try that. If all else fails I will just head back to 2.0.3 until the next upgrade is available. Either way there is a fix.

Participant‘stuttering’ drop outs with crackles on top! The cpu usage is around 50% on start up but 2 decks max’s it out. (sometimes even one deck does).

ParticipantThanks dj hessler…. The high cpu load affects me. switching off multicore did not help.

ParticipantWell, where do I start? Last weekend i upped my package from Mixlr and was bitterly disappointed with the 128k stream quality.
I wrote to their support team about paying extra for a higher quality stream. Guess what? Not only did they increase it to 192k, they did it at no extra cost permonth(about $8 Australian). So huge ups to mixLR support!
Now, here’s the thing, the speed is increased, quality is more acceptable, and I am very happy with that but this act alone opens up other potential problems.. Not everyone has high speed broadband and the higher(in speed/quality) one goes the demographic starts to become reduced. The other downside is streaming a higher bit rate means an average, say, 4-5 hour session will eat (exaggerated rounding) about 1/2 a gig of a listeners data plan… The data side doesn’t bother me as I have 150 gigs a month to play with, but others are not so fortunate…..
Yes there is a question in all of this! Is 192 k too much to ask of listeners, or should I be strict on the quality of the stream I am broadcasting?NewportDJ Drew
ParticipantWell it is using at least 50% more processing power to the point I am getting maxed out processor glitches…… but only my laptop. I am going to have to uninstall it and go back to original one i had. The changes aren’t significant enough for me to mess around when the original worked fine.

ParticipantIt’s a great app. I was using it yesterday for about 4-5 hours. apart from my grandaughter turning the pc off halway through then nieghbours having a barney(not with me) it worked without a hitch. I have also witnessed they have great support/help/resolution team in place too.

ParticipantI would think so too except the original post said…
At present i hook up a external mixer and use the mic through that but its a pain to set up sometimes.
NewportDJ Drew
ParticipantMaybe an external mic preamp is needed?
