Try using a different usb driver. If you still have an older copy of one use that. for instance the driver I use for my s4 is 3.0.3.696 released 26/4/2012. This is the one that works with my setup. Took alot of hunting down to arrive at this solution.

The master level on the s4 has bearing only on the speaker volume and is totally isolated by itself.

As a mobile DJ I try to still be able to ~JUST~ hear the people talking. Generally about 90-100dB at the speaker. Oh, and that image above is from http://www.dangerousdecibels.org/education/information-center/decibel-exposure-time-guidelines/

First cab off the rank is USB driver. download a few back versions of the driver , install each and test to see if any of them play nicely.

Sure! The poles are there for bi-amping with +1,-1 being for say lows and +2,-2 for highs, There can be up to four poles for tri-amping (+1,+2.+3,+4/-1,-2,-3,-4) being for subs, mids and highs with one unused. Having the all them built into one cable saxes having multiple long cable runs and daisy chaining the speaker system less messy.

My two cents….SPL is the true key. Sound pressure level is the final result of watts and speaker efficiency. You want your speakers to be capable of delivering at least of clarity 100dB SPL each. Learn about dB from an spl point of view. Learn about the rule of 10 (10dB more sounds twice as loud). Learn that double the speakers (eg 2 speakers) only increases loudness by 3dB. ) so if you have 2 speakers pumping 100dB of spl the actual spl is 103dB). My serious recommendation is that every mobile DJ if they are building and running a PA should do a course in sound technology even if just for the basics of how sound systems work. I cannot stress the importance of obtaining this knowledge. 8)
