    Haha well now you know, with traktor 1 they were all labled there were 6 buttons, now to clean up traktor they just put letters which was a bit less obvious.

    If you have any more traktor based question feel free to ask :), Ive tried out vdj in the past and always thought it would be a hard jump since traktor does stuff a little different

    Ooo oo ooo im a traktor nerd… See the s and q buttons besides the big master knob in the top bar… If you click the s that is snap the q is quantise which if you want to do some cue juggling will drop song perfect on beat for live mashups :),

    Either way what emma posted is still correct just I know when changing over to traktor 2 I felt like they missed out these controls till I click them on my controller and seen them light up (I had all these mapped in traktor 1)

    Ooo check the back of your controller for an rca connection if it has one thats pretty good :), if not you may need to buy a cheap soundcard to plug in…. And mixing by eq isnt a problem like emma said :), most of us djs use a mixture of a few things, I tend to adjust eqs whilst blending songs, lower volume faders, crossfade and sometime layer some creative effects on top (traktor has a few effects that make for amazing transitions like there delay effect, there filters, there gaters and beatmasher) hope this helps 🙂

    Its a very short mix I must say and seems like it would have taken longer to do the actual video then the mix, I also play electro going to record a new mix over the next few days so will link you to it if you want 🙂

    Haha aww its fine and sounds like a plan 🙂 im sure if I have it there ill use it, and yeah the subbase is amazing I have my bass amp running out of my sound system and you cant really hear it but you sure as hell can feel it, was thinking even ducking it so its just on the kick drum to add for a real heart hitting effect but wont talk about it too much on here since this is off topic chat :p

    That is Wonderful first of all that you are Confident about your Transitions and Mixing;
    And also Wonderful that you are Confident with your Controller;
    This Makes you a DJ 😎
    So; with Being a DJ; it is a Case Of Working on your Confidence in Front Of People; and your Feelings Of ‘Readiness’ to Perform In Front Of A Crowd;
    I would Hope to Reassure you by saying With Full Confidence; that;
    1: Most (if Not All) DJ’s Are Shy (this is Why We like to ‘Hide Away’ in a Booth/be Seperated From The Crowd);
    2: We Are All (Most) Completely Nerve Wracked before Going On Stage (unless Full Of Alcohol or Drugs);
    Would it be Possible (Before you DJ at your Friends Party) for you to Play In Front of One of your Friends; then 2 of your Friends; then 4 of your Friends; and therefore ‘Building Up Your Confidence’ in DJ’ing in Front Of A Crowd;
    Or even have a few ‘Close’ Friends over where you can all have a Drink; and you can DJ as if it is ‘No Big Thing’ ?

    These are just ‘Little Techniques’ to Get You To Where You Want To Be 🙂 😎

    Totally agree 🙂 this is how I practise new stuff… Invite the lads over have a few drinks and see if they like my new material or techniques… It never fails if they says its shit its back to the drawing board… If they says its really good its then in my killer list or if they just drink away relaxed its something thats usable at doesnt stand out 🙂

    Practise practise practise once you feel like you can mix any of your songs in with any other one then you’ll be fine, practise some routines to show of what you can do and why you choose to use a controller over a standardized setup (according to people this would be cds or vinyl).
    If you are looking for ways to use it check out the videos in the main page of djtechtools.com there is a few performance videos or even youtube and search for ean golden.

    Its not what you use its how you use it and the noise that comes out of the speakers…. For your first gig whilst you may feel nervous and feel like everyone is staring at you. You really shouldnt play like you would at home, smile and remember that people really dont care or even really understand what you are doing.

    Once they see you dancing around with a smile having fun that will get people in the mood too aswell…. A room full of smiles and happy people will give the atmosphere a better feeling so no matter how nervous you are just mess about and enjoy yourself and i PROMISE you the other people there will follow!!!

    Due to ‘Yet Another’ Head Injury; and been Struggling with Music this 10 days or so; I have gone back to Gaming;
    On Thursday I began playing Games (Xbox) at 3pm; and Finished (because I couldn’t see anymore); at 9.30am on Friday morning; and it was my Longest Gaming Session so far; and in those 18 Hours I played just 2 Games 🙂

    Sorry to hear about your head 🙁 hope all is ok though, what games were you playing?? Havent played my xbox for soo long, used to always play skate 1 2 and 3 on it and the odd bit of forza 2, now its just a dedicated media centre with my external harddrive linked to it and since I found out my pcs remote can control it 🙂 might play on it later but really need to finish a electro-step song I promised my girlfriend id make for her, all ive got down is loads of subbase that vibrates my house
