If I don´t have the song I´ll ask them to writte it in a piece of paper so I can look it up and have it for the next gig (that usually calms them). If I come across them in a “next gig” and they ask for it I will at least have listened to it and give some feedback about it; if it is a “no”. I´ll go with the “it doesn´t fit the vibe // mood // etc”.
It´s not like they´ll be happy with any answer you give them as their “goal” is to listen to what they want :S

I wish I could… that would mean I have some producing experience which I don´t (yet!). I was in a nightclub once in NY and the DJs used this kinds of song and the ppl enjoyed it a lot !! I know I did I even forget to shazam the songs or what 😛

Anyway if someone can point me in the right the direction thank you in advance !!!!

    Best!

    Hey,

Not a pro and not a producer yet. My 2 cents; I liked it. Very relaxing; I dunno in what situation I would be able to listen to it as it´s even more “low” than some deep house music. Is there a way to make the beat feel stronger (not faster or lauder)?

    Best and congrats,

    F

Hmmm… I always start by saying; “not a pro here”; my 2 cents;  I don´t think there´s going to be a solution to your situation. Demographics described are way to different; I would say focus on the target crowd (the Kids!). It´s them who are partying and as for the parents… well… I guess kids would roll up their eyes if they listened to Sinatra 😛 (extreme example to make a point!). If you find a way plz let us know.

Think the best promotion for u is very persuasive kids “demanding” you to their parents 😛

Great tips. One thing I am starting to do is mixing mid song. Introducing elements of the following tune even while the one playing is “rocking”. Maybe a vocal, a particular drum or noise (minimal here :P) so that when those last 2 or 1 min begin I can start doing the mix and the crowd won´t notice something new coming as they´ve heard it already.

Liked it 🙂 Always enjoy come “classic” with electronic music, though not a fan of “dubstepsish” sound 😛 and “gamer/adventure” music.

    Did you produce it ?

    Hey Moray,

First of all I am pretty noob myself so I might not give as good advise as some of the pro´s but here is some of the feedback I got from listening mixtape no.2 (momo). Also I listen while working so I take notes when something caughts my attention.

    1- There seems (remember I am new to this too) to be some beat-mixing minor problems in 03.40 // 06.58 // 13.18 // 28.19
2- Liked the transition in 18.00
3- Are you using a camelot wheel when doing these mixes in order to mixed in key ? The first three songs gave me a feeling / vibe, the fourth a different one and get lucky and the following one another.
4- 24.26 seemed like you had to rush in the other song. I had to this some times as one song might be shorter than expected or can´t seem to find a way to mix the new song without beign to obvius, or maybe can´t make up my mind about what to play next 😛
5- Did you do something on 27.24 with the gain?
6- I liked the overall theme selection 😉

Plz remember I am new to this too and that this is meant to be constructive criticism 😀 !! I´ll follow you on soundcloud 😉

    Best,
    F
