To add a bit more meat to the bone, i’m planning on only buying MP3, mainly because its more accessible and cheaper, so i can see my MP3 collection increasing significantly. But, I have only DJ’d with vinyl. I love vinyl to having a DVS solution is key.
So it seems to me i have two main options. One, stick with my current setup (making sure that M-audio Torq still works) and buy a cheap mixer to replace the broken Vestax one,
Or Two, purchase a DJ controller which has DVS ability. I’ve been researching the software a fair bit and i’m leaning towards the Traktor world, therefore, something like the Kontrol s4 mkII seems to fit the bill. For this option, what else would in need to get the setup working? The actual S4, Traktor control vinyl? Traktor software upgrade separate to that i would get bundled with the s4?
So ignoring MP3s, i think i can get a pretty sweet setup by spending around £500 for the S4 only.
