if you plan on running traktor or ableton, i’d personally upgrade my ram to its maximum, I had problems running logic until I did this, but I only had 2gb. http://www.ebuyer.com/393027-crucial-8gb-ddr3-1066mt-s-laptop-memory-for-mac-ct2c4g3s1067mceu ebuyer is a good option, and remember the price of RAM ect. rises and falls regularly the link I’ve just posted you I purchased myself, on a good day and got it for just £40, but at one point I did see it for around as little as £30. No reason not to upgrade your ram, however I will say I don’t think macbook pros older than 2009 are upgradeable, I might be wrong. 2010 onwards is what I personally would go for as from a friend of mine who works in computing always told me that they are the most reliable.

    Hope this helps 🙂

if you use itunes as your primary media player, which in my opinion you should, (Bill Gates who?) then in Setup (top right) make sure you have itunes checked. Don’t know if this will solve your problem but works for me as I have itunes make a copy of imported tracks, then I just delete them from my music folder ect. As for the BPM you need to analyse all your files (takes a while depending on the size of your library) then right click the tab above the tracks and make sure BPM is checked. If you don’t wanna fork out however much for mixed in key ect. I recommend downloading Keyfinder for mac, Beta for windows. You can then write the key to the file and then this will also show up in Serato DJ.

    Hope this helps 🙂

I know what your saying. I literally only bought my mixtrack pro 2 last weekend :/ when I saw they had released a 4 deck version this afternoon I was a bit gutted, however I’m only planning on sticking with the mixtrack pro 2 until I feel my skills have developed and I can afford something fully loaded so to speak, so I’m over it now lol.

It always the same, look at apple. £500 + for an iphone/ipad, 6 months later you’ve got the old model. Its impossible to keep up with everything these days.

Thanks Terry only just read this reply, you’ve answered my question on another post 🙂

in reply to: anybody suggest a decent budget pad controller? #38863

Thanks Terry yes thats what I mean, I want to use the akai LPD8 as a secondary controller, I believe the pads are pretty much the same as what my Mixtrack pro 2 has, so would be a nice combination. Is it not possible to remap certain features to my primary controller?

Im running a Macbook Pro 2010 13″ will I need a powered USB hub or will my macbook power both controllers?

Sorry for asking so many questions 😀
