MemberI have audacity, not sure if I can convert multiple files though. Bearing in mind I have nearly 1000 I’d like to convert, using audacity could be a lengthy process :/

MemberI’m setting this up too as it happens, Id planned on recording with ableton though, thought it would give more room and options for tweaking ect. Whats your set up? I’m going to see how I get on with using my iPad to control ableton, any experience with this?
Thanks and hope you solve your problem 🙂

MemberI loved fl studio when I used windows, but since it doesn’t run on mac and I still haven’t got round to installing boot camp I’ve had to adapt to ableton and logic, which are far better in my opinion, however I did find fl studio easier to get my head round and use effectively as a beginner.

Memberthe day and night remix is nice. Think I’m gonna have a pop at some mash ups of my own in ableton. Want more of a old skool hip hop vibe like nas, jay z, and biggie ect.
thanks though

MemberIm a big fan of grime, wouldn’t really say its MC’s rapping over dubstep though, agreed they are both generally at 140 bpm, and have a similar dark sound, but if you look into grime, its quite different and not really what I’m going for.
I want to try and achieve this sort of thing
I think you were warmer suggesting trap, but thank you. Do you have any experience with mashup by mixed in key?

RAM is only a consideration if you are running 2GB or less. From 4GB onwards the benefits become less and less. I have a mid 2011 MBP 15 too and run it with 4GB without any problems or glitches. I do love my SSD upgrade though.
Greetinx,
C.Do you currently have HDD? My SSD is coming tomorrow or friday, I’m excited to see the difference 😀
I recently upgrade from 2GB of ram to 8GB – Massive difference!

I don’t know if a Macbook Pro can handle DJing, screen-, video- AND audio recording seamlessly without running out of CPU power or causing spikes. My old windows Laptop i’m using for Djing surely can’t. But you can try!
I try to explain how I do it at the moment, maybe you get a few ideas!
The way i solve the problem with syncing up audio and video is routing the booth output of my s4 to the line-in of my second PC to which a webcam is connected, too. If your controller has only one audio output, you could use a stereo-splitter cable.
Video from Webcam + audio from controller -> Capture software = Video with synced up with audio
Now you only need a screenrecorder software on your Dj laptop and sync the parts you want later with your Video you’ve created on your second laptop.
This way my DJ Laptop isn’t bothered with tasks unrelated to djing and the quality of your recording will be nice. Of course you need a decent video capture device, unlike mine – a pixelmaschine-webcam…
The program i use for Video/Audio capture is NCH Debut – It’s for Mac and PC and can record the screen, too.
And its free for private usage! -> linkI hope you get a few Ideas from this – I will definitely try screen recording now 🙂
Hello
Thanks for a detailed response, Im pretty sure my macbook pro would run screen flow and serato DJ at the same time without any memory problems, I think they bother require 2gb of ram and I have 8gb so I should be fine. Ill be sure to check out NCH debut though.
I also have a windows laptop so will consider doing as you’ve suggested, although I think using my iphone would capture better quality footage.
I will maybe still try syncing the audio with the video, lining the the first beat with myself pressing play shouldn’t be too tricky, fingers crossed.

Membertouch osc is only compatible with ios 3 +
Im not sure whats the latest software for 1st gen ipads, Im pretty sure it won’t run ios6 but I imagine you can probably run ios 5 so you should be fine.
I have touch osc, never really used it though tbh.
What you planning on mapping to it?
