I’ve now got a Maschine Mikro too so I can make some loops to be used in the remixdecks making some cool basslines and drum loops to add to original tracks. I have totally changed the way I DJ since I got my new (Toys)
yeah man I feel like the f1 mikro combination will offer endless possibilities. I can’t even concentrate at work right now lol….8 hours to go!

ParticipantI have them both! planning on getting f1 thursday…..there are different ways to go about it when you say “pairing” you can set up traktor as the master clock and maschine as the slave so anytime you anhe the bpm in traktor it will automatically change in maschine (dj endo has a video on this on you tube)
you can simply just have both programs open and drag samples from maschine right into a remix slot (matt celetti from dubspot has a videop on this)
you can have it set up so that maschine mikro is routed throuh one of your decks as live input (check out traktor bible or some artices on line)
Or it has a midi function where you can use it as a midi controller to control your deck parameters pending on your mapping (dj endo apperently has a pretty good one). I personally don’t this as I think the real power in maschine lies in its production and groove sequencing capabilities.
You should really decide what your using the mikro for though….intended for production or do you want just want to had some spice to your sets…if thats the case maybe investing in the f1 would be a better option. Really depends what you want to do.

Participantsh*t I just love walking by it and remembering that I have one! lol

Participanti love my S2 too! lol ….regarding the filter/gain knob…I only use it as a filter since I have traktor set up as auto gain there is no need to use it as a a gain knob.

Although bear in mind Dubstep has been around for around a decade-ish from it’s birthplace in London, UK, it’s not new (it’s a sub-genre developed out of UK Garage). Also Drum and Bass is still huge as an underground sound as well as having a large mainstream audience – again, in the UK, from where it originates (from around 1993-94, possibly earlier as sped up breaks were used in hardcore in the very early 90’s).
Both of these genres have developed over time and as others have said, continue to do so; along the way a sub-genre may break out and create it’s own underground scene, which has always been the evolution of dance music, in fact, all music.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Its only considered ne wnow as the U.S. have got there hands on it now and it is becoming more mainstream. I have been listening to dubstep for a coupel years now and like any genre of music the talented artists that can actaully make good music will have longevity in thier careers and those just riding the wave/ “current fad” will be washed away come the next cycle

Sorry for the delay been quite busy this past couple weeks. Actually been testing out different connections. I stumbled upon another solution.
I got a NI Komplete Audio 6 now so I have been using that the past month. Instead of using Soundflower/Jack Osx I bought some extra cables and did set up manual loop back record with the KA6 so that while Deck D is in live input it picks up on whatever is playing from Maschine.
Basically none of the NI audio interfaces have loop back recording. This basically is a function some interfaces ahve to allow you to capture live audio from anything playing on your computer. I needed this so I could sample songs/videos from you tube using my maschine mikro. Then I noticed after I set it up that it was also playing audio from maschine in traktor without having soundflower enabled. Not sure about the logic behind it however it works without any static/feedback in my speakers and has yet to drop out on me so at this current time looks like a more stable solutionStep One) Plugged this into my headphoen jack of KA6
Step 2
Put one end of this y-splitter cable into the above and the two other ends in the inputs of my KA6. Obviosuly got to adjust the jacks to match your interface. Kind of just stumbled upon this, no expert as to why this is working so if anyone with more knowledge on audio devices/routing can add to this and explain further then that would help

ParticipantAgreed! Additionally I love taking loops, samples from other genres like electro/dubstep and dropping it on a nice hip hop vocal. Started experimenting this way alot more and you create magic out of tracks you’ve had in your playlist for years…. I also try to avoid the “genre trap” as there are so many commonalities between different genres it would be a shame to limit yourself and the potential!
