Good – The sound quality is unreal

Bad – If you have them in for a couple hours they start to irritate my ears

Okay so I got a better pair of heaphones. After seeeing Phils review on the Moda CrossFade 2 I knew I needed it in my set up

Good: Pure sound as it is intended to be heard

Bad: The cord that plugs into my sound card is really long!

that actually happened to me too the other day. First time and I thought it was pretty random cause I have not done anything different. It happened trying to load a track into the deck though. All i did was repeatedly reloading until the error was gone and it went away.

Maybe trying refreshing multiples (you probably have though)

So, I’m one of those DJs that doesn’t really promote myself, I think a lack of motivation really does it for me. But anyhow, This mix is quite a few months old – But hey… Still music at the end of the day!

I have an S2 F1 and Maschine Mikro. I love the combination! It really depends on what you want to do…I like having the mikro cause I make beats as well so it has dual function and right now both the maschine and mikro are on sale. You can also route it as live input into Traktor. However the downside is that you have to learn how to use maschine software as well (or can be seen as a plus)

With the F1 you have the full control over the remix decks but at the same time there is a dual function to use it to trigger cue points filters etc; and some fx. Its plug and play so it seemlessly integrates with traktor.

I dont have an X1 or midi fighter so I cant speak to that.

At the end of the day its your choice but I would highly suggest gettign gear that can be used for multiple purposes

This is amazing. I was waiting for a site like this. Once I get my remix decks organized the way I want them I will be uploading for sure!

BTW, what really bothers me in traktor is the fact that you only have 2 contitions for modifiers to assign… life would be so easier – > a full featured s2 mapping with all tricks – than assign a third condition to each item and voila – a 4 deck mapping without being limited by modifiers. I simply cannot understand why Native instrument has limited the Mapping in such a way. It’s not a technical issue i guess…

To be honest i think i may have seen a 4 deck mapping on the traktobible website or dj tech tools mappings section. Can’t recall where

Here’s the article: Why I Just Threw Away Nearly All Of My Music

Emma, I was a resident in the same club for 10 years, and I have to say my set changed gradually, never in one go – people came to hear me play the tunes I played, because they knew how I played them and they knew what they’d get. I think it’s OK to play the same tunes and change only gradually. Only my opinion though 🙂

Wow Phil I dont know how I missed this article lol …i am normally on point w/ these…I was proabably really hungover that whole weekend! lol

I’m on the same boat right now cleaning up my playlists but also categoizing them for better organization. I was getting tired of listening to my ipod and thinking “this song is amazing then a random song comes on….who where what when why and how” l want back some control and it does feel pretty good getting rid of the rubbish.

I’ve seen you mention spotify so many times before but I haven’t checked it out yet…I do need something for day to day listening so I will have to check it out.

HAHA, must have got you quite the looks from others, i can imagine 😀

I should really start to write modifiers and a scheme, too. Thanks for the hint 🙂 I always start out of the blue – got lost sometimes during the mapping and didn’t found that one error hidden deep within the modifiers…

I guess the desire to map your controllers to your need comes with the geek (at least a little one 😉 ) that resides inside of each digital dj, i presume.

yeah espeically in traktor when theres so many options to chose from….one thing can throw your mapping off and if your anything like me I cant move on until Its fixed! I can get pretty geeky with it not gonna lie.

I usually make a template in microsoft word and print off multiple copies and write down what I want do and the steps I need to do to get a particualr control. Then as I go I check it off the list and test it on my controller to ensure it works fine and I havent used a modifier I already used. I figure to invest the time in it upfront cause if the mapping is good enough you will be using it quite alot!

maybe give it a theme…or base the night on some common thread…get people excited! especially since you do it only once a month… it wouldnt be that hard to stay relevant….maybe for one of the nights you can do just like classic house/90’s house/”throw backs and make it like an ole skool theme

I do my own. I will write down what I want and list out modifiers and just go at it and save the tsi. I find for me anyway it makes more sense to create it cause your much more familar with the controls. At the same time I have tried other mappings online and I have been quite happy with them

    2010 13″ 2.4ghz 4gb ram Macbook Pro. I use 44100hz Sample Rate 256. I use the S2 and F1 and I noticed a big drop in CPU load after I downloaded 2.5.1.
