Try Traktor Freaks http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/ for more info than you can poke a stick at. Good luck!

I’ve been using computers and software for more years than I care to admit. Any LE type version is to get you sucked into buying the full version. This has been the case for years and why it is bundled with a controller. As a graphic and web designer, I know that you need talent and knowledge to produce the goods, not just Photoshop etc installed on your machine. The same applies to DJ software.

Just because you have the most expensive program and controller, means nothing. If you can’t DJ, no amount of gear will help you. You’ll find a good DJ could use even the cheapest program and sound good. Whatever you do, bite the bullet and save up to purchase the full version. Both products have more than enough features that you won’t need to look any further. Practice and then practice some more, enjoy the music you play, you’ll be good enough one day to have others enjoying your mixes and music. That’s what it’s all about!

Great to read your post mate. This love of mixing music is not just for the youngsters (hey we were there once too). Loved the story about the iPad & dJay, I’ve had almost identical experiences myself and the iPad has got me back into mixing again after a break of nearly ten years. Don’t ever stop just because you’re getting older than some. Dance music is as old as time itself, we just got to find out earlier than some.
