MemberHi I can’t go for N4 anyhow as I feel its somewhat high to my budget. Any problem going with Mixtrack Pro? I feel its more suited at the moment considering all angles. You don’t entertain Mixtrack Pro ? Is it work with Ableton of course I use Ableton only after a while. I really unable to understand what u said ” And there is a big difference, if your starting get the mixtrack pro” . You are suggesting or denying ? Sorry for the confusion. Anyhow thanks for still reading the thread with patience. I don’t want to tire others for a long time. From my understanding at the moment I feel there should be two decks or sound source to get the basics of DJing like beat matching ( and more.. ) I feel Mixtrack Pro is enough for me at the moment. Any changes. Also can I learn with my Compaq Laptop with the mentioned specifications with Mixtrack Pro. Sorry and thanks.

MemberHi Guys thanks again for enlightening the situation. Just now got my Ableton Live 8 from shipping. But as Hane suggested I don’t want to uncover Ableton package at the moment. It’s like romancing a girl from distance. But its nice to be like that now. Only if I get the reasonable understanding about the basics its worth opening it. The next thing I want to buy is obviously a controller and a Laptop which I decided as Dell Inspiron 15r. But in the meantime before buying the Laptop just I want to know certain things. At the moment I got Ableton Live 8. Its better to go for Numark Mixtrack Pro or N4 ? I presume there won’t be any compatible issues with Numark Mixtrack Pro or N4 with Ableton ? Do you have any special suggestion or experience with that combination ? Also at the moment my brother got a Compaq Laptop but with Intel Pentium Dual Processor with 1.86GHZ Clock speed and 2GB RAM and 250GB HD. The specification cannot be enhanced as all are built in. This specification is enough for learning purpose if I get any one of the two Numark controller or any other controller ? Obviously I won’t install Ableton in this Laptop and go with the free software bundled with the controller. Which is preferable N4 or Mixtrack Pro or anything you have in your list ? Still can I start with this Compaq Laptop or to buy Dell at the moment.
Yeah I am still confused ..MemberSorry Spin just now paid the amount for Ableton and may be it will be shipped in a few days. Sorry for that as something pulled me to Ableton. So I don’t want to dig deep to that. Also as I mentioned due to offer in India especially in South India Ableton got nearly 45% discount. So I went for the offer. Again sorry for that. So my next step is to buy Dell Inspiron 15r. I work as a part time Tennis coach and I am getting this with my hard earned savings. So I may seem a little bit hurry just coz of this offer period as I got Ableton for half a price but of course it will be idle till I get the Laptop. As mentioned earlier I
fancied about Ableton for six months and got a chance. So what to do next? Dell Inspiron 15r with i5 processor with 2.3 Ghz clock speed and 4GB RAM and 750GB HD. Is that a reasonable configuration ? Certainly Mac is unreachable for me at the time. I want to learn the art of DJing. I knew a CD DJ and he said if I show some reasonable improvement he will share his work with me. 3.MemberThanks a lot guys. I understand things slowly now ( of course it may be late ). But I am attracted to Ableton Live. I dunno y. So at the moment I am buying that as there is offer here in India and also dropped Traktor 6 from the list. Apart from that I decided for Numark N4 and most importantly Ableton is compatible with N4 ? Unable to come to clear conclusion from googling as some guys posted some incurable problems with their experience with the combination. In the meanwhile thanks a lot for the info…

MemberThanks Vinnyl for the reply. So to put simple at the moment I push to buy Novation Launchpad as Akai APC 40 is really beyond my wallet. Launchpad helps in beat matching and to some extent substitute the Mixer ?
