The inputs on the back of controllers are usually for additional controllers which are powered from it, or for turntables or CDJs which are routed through its soundcard. Most controllers with inputs are all-in-one types or mixers.

Thanks for the feedback, Terry_42. I can’t upgrade to iOS 7 because my computer is ancient, so if the reviews on Amazon are right, controller support on djay is out of the question. How well does the Traktor Z1 work with Traktor DJ? Is it worth the $220 for the app and the controller, or should I stick with what I’ve got?
