From my understanding this is a cooperative effort to link Cross to Soundcloud. So Soundcloud blocking the connection from Cross is unlikely, at least in the near future. Also, you have the ability to hide any tab you want already. IIRC you just need to right click on one of the tabs and you can check the boxes you want to see.

Plus, the build quality isn’t that good. It won’t last nearly as long as the ones Terry mentioned for instance.

Switch the monitor and master outputs, they are the other way around. And read your manual, it’s there for a reason.

I’ve had some random crashes with 3.2, but the Soundcloud option is nice. Not something I would use live atm with the random crashes. 3.0 was a lot more stable.

The reason you’re lacking in bass with the 1500’s is because the 1500 only has one driver, while the Shure 425 and the Pioneer 2000 have two.

Wow, has it been that long? Time flies when you buy new gear it seems.
I’ve had the DDJ-SR now for a while and did some gigs with it too. It almost exactly fills my needs.

The 14 bit pitch faders are awesome, it’s much easier to ride the pitch now.
The effects knobs work great together with my X1 Mk2, I now have full control over all four effect banks at the same time.
The filters and gain controls are really handy to have. I don’t think I can go back to a setup without those. Once you have VU meters with gain knobs you realise how bad the auto gain functionality is in dj software!
The 2+2 layout at first seemed a drawback, but in practise I don’t miss a full four deck functionality at all. Even when playing 3 decks at once, switching between decks is good enough.
The jog wheels are ok, but I wished there was a little less friction on them. That’s my only drawback with respect to the Mixtrack Pro 2. Another thing is that scratching isn’t as accurate in Traktor as it is in Serato, but that’s a Traktor problem, not a gear problem. Only the S2 and S4 have a good accuracy in Traktor, so they must have broken it on purpose. But overall I must say that the DDJ-SR works better with Traktor than with Serato.

I’ve mapped the living daylights out of it and it works exactly the way I want it to. Whereas in Serato, well, you know the drill… If anybody wants to try my mapping, I’ll gladly share it. The reason I don’t post it on djtechtools is that once you do everybody starts whining that there’s no proper manual. Not a real grateful audience.

Overall I’m really happy with my investment. My Mixtrack is currently out teaching a friend to use Traktor and Serato, I’ll probably keep it for birthdays and stuff.

In what way is Traktor lagging behind? I don’t see either Cross or Serato having the great effects section, sample implementation or mapping capabilities that Traktor has. All the others are mostly getting what Traktor has had for years. The only thing Cross has over the others is Soundcloud integration.
Don’t think I’m a fanboy though, I own Serato DJ and Cross as well.

I had a simmilar experience recently. Also started with the Mixtrack Pro 2 but ended up going for the DDJ-SR. I have had it now for a few months and it’s a great quality controller (don’t worry, Reloop build quality is excellent as well), has enough power just running on USB, is somewhat cheaper (when I bought it there was a cashback offer on top of that) and it has a smaller footprint than the Reloop. I don’t miss having four dedicated sets of knobs and faders at all. I occasionally use a third deck and it’s easily switchable. The fourth deck is the domain of my F1, so no problems there either. As you may have guessed I use it with Traktor. I must say unless you’re into scratching it works even better with Traktor than with Serato.
Why didn’t I buy an S2/S4? Because their build quality is, how do I say this, CRAP.

Some pro’s on the Reloop side: The jogs are probably better (DDJ-SR’s are unable to do spinbacks properly), The coloured pads are nicer, it has four channels instead of 2+2 and the pitch faders are longer (although the same resolution: 14 bit).

I can safely say you will be satisfied with either controller, both are excellent.

I would suggest that you first get a slightest idea in djing to see what you want to do, pick the software that does best what you plan to do and only then look for a compatible controller.

The gain knobs are only software on the SR. But it is very weird that the gain is only altered after the recording in Serato. It’s as if they put no thought in it at all.

One of the stores I regularly buy from says the A10 has Traktor Scratch 2.5 in the box.

Indeed TSP=TP+DVS. Please note that using HID is like adding a midi controller, you don’t need a timecode setup for that.

I use an SR as well, but mostly with Traktor. I find the auto gain in Traktor not too reliable either, I end up using the gain knobs a lot with auto gain on. As far as Serato goes, whatever the certified hardware comes with is what you’ll be able to use, that’s it. There’s no way to alter mapping or routing or whatever.

You mean software that picks the tracks for you? I wouldn’t go there. It does exist, but it’s not good at all, plus you miss out on practicing the most important skill as a dj. You could have the cleanest mixes in the world, if your tracks don’t move the crowd, it’s worthless.

Four channels are nice, but not essential. There’s also the 2+2 option, which is what I use. This means you have two channels, but you can switch. This for me is enough. I have never needed more than two channel controls all at once.
