Personally a decent home amp and monitors, s/h even … why ppl insist that plastic is comparable to nice timber speakers beats me exspecially at home on a desktop…. but thats my opinion

in reply to: What do you do to get people to dance? #7291

With Weddings and Corprates u have a much more varied public, than the bar/club scene, factors such as age ethnicity come into play …. i find a good mix of 80’s 90’s and the more commercial tracks out nowadays usually does well + a few older dance tracks ,,,, target a group of ppl at the function find out what there into adjust accordingly

Both are good software imo, traktor much more complex ie: learning curve wise vdj7 easy setup to get u going, try the Demo on site to see if it suits your needs… really it comes down to personal preference …..

It can be done with apps like basehead /pc or soundgrinder/mac by monkey tools :]

in reply to: If you can't hear difference between CD and Mp3 #6974

Me either cd is better than mp3, i managed to get hold of an originally pressing “cd” master early on the difference was suprising between that and the commercial release,,, paper cones i like my old wharfedales still keep going,,, i have old and new equipment many speaker setups personally i prefer older ones with a decent amp , yes mp3’s do sound different on them but in a club or concert im not sure ….

Interesting and quite true to an extent, but he forgets nearly all people lose hearing exspecially high mid ranges , mostly after teenage years some sooner ie: concerts ipods raves etc i was a roadie for many years suffered hearing loss thru sound “damage” so even thou mp3 is a compression codec most people really wont notice that much difference @ 320, overdriving your equipment is worse imo : but all in all a good sales pitch dont you think ?

its been a mainstay for quite a few years, making waves is another good program not as glitzy as others in genre but all the important items work really well, i make tracks very easily on it … regards marc

Goldwave ive used since its inception it is far superior than Audacity… just somethin it does Includes a collection of powerful tools. Copy audio directly from an audio CD with the CD Reader tool. Join many files together with the File Mergertool. Generate your own sounds and effects using the Expression Evaluator tool. Chain together effects for faster processing or create new effects using the Effect Chain Editor tool. Bookmark places within the file using the Cue Points tool, or split a long file into pieces defined by cue points. Create audio versions of websites, books, and other text documents with the Speech Converter tool so you can listen to them while doing other things. Dictate into a microphone to transcribe the text. Proofread your writing.
