I don´t care about software, since I already got Traktor and I want to map it myself. About TM4 I think it is a bit big and lacks a bit when it comes to mapping possibilities I think..

I dont have any local guitar center or music store with dj equipment therefor i only have reviews and others opinion to rely on.. :/ My main concern is if I should build up with every component seperated or an all in one option.. I want to map everything myself so that is not an issue and guess im going for a four decker since I want something that will last and I am not looking to upgrade again in the nearest future.

Simply hate looking for new stuff cuz I’m always scouting to much 😉 But how do you feel towards the S2, do you feel limited with two decks? Or have you set up the X1 as one deck and F1 as remix deck resulting in 4 decks :O?

From what I have heard about the S4, it´s outdated and overpriced made in plastic and overall low quality knobs and faders. Yes it is tight with Traktor and but still any other controller should do the same work, except for scratching. According to the MPK mini it´s still a midi-controller. I have mapped it myself to be a four-deck controller, fully playable but with a lot of drawbacks hehe 🙂 I guess I might go with the VCI-400 for now, seems like the best shot but I still wonder why this controller isn´t as popular as the others on the buyers market :O

Is it better to go with a vci-400 with an all in one package or get an n4 and perhaps a f1 on the side? I also got an Akai mpk mini laying around at home..

And another thing, If you play in a club, always remember that the tracks you play is what the crowd pays attention to the most, the transitions isn´t that important actually, but the song selection is, read the crowd! I don´t know about your club experience during the weekends but I got a lot, and even doe I DJ I don´t even pay attention to the transitions when I have had some alcohol in my system, the only thing that would bother me would be if the musics stops completely 🙂

I´m actually in the same position as you, I play at a controller at home but if I had an upcoming, bigger gig I wouldn’t be able to bring my own beloved Mixtrack I would have to use their CDJ. It all depends on how your mixing style is. Mix in and out should not be a problem for you but when you move up and want to to more advanced mixing you´ll be pretty stuck if your not prepared.

I don´t have any real experience to be honest, only played in a club on CDJs once but I can try give some advice since I have been in the same thoughts for a while and I can tell you about my mistakes as well… You will most likely have a chance to show up early, test the gear out, It shuoldnt take you to long to get used to it so you can get around. Another thing is know your music! That´s a problem I had, I didn´t have access to my own library, I had to use another DJs music and got loads of problems by that.. If you know your music you know where it can be a good point to change track, you might have a couple of mini mixes you can do blind-folded, use em! Another is, dont get over your head! Don´t be more advanced than you can handle, take the safe-route, it might not be your ultimate set, but you can´t expect that with no hands-on experience. And at last, relax!

So my only option is Mixtrack? Or can you recommend anything else that you have had your hands on? 🙂

All right I’ll skip the Behringer, but I’m going to look for other, more budget alternatives than the Mixtrack Pro I guess..

I rly like the second part of this remix, after 1:50, before 1:50 I think the lyrics are a bit off and I didn’t rly like the drum pattern but that’s just me. But overall, nice work, keep it up! 🙂

What kind of shortcomings? :O The thing is that the Mixtrack is out of my budget =/

Well, I’m going to try out this Behringer BCD3000 and with three years warranty from Thomann, I feel like I have nothing to lose rly, if I continue for more then three years I will probably upgrade my gear. 🙂
