ParticipantI’ve been djin since the mid nineties and I’ve always mixed in key. It never had a name but it was always part of mixing and blending. That’s the style of djing I’ve had and will always have and guess what its just got a whole lot easier to organize my tracks.
I think every1 misses the point with laptop djin and the skill sets around it. To me its organisation (no more searching through record boxes and cd pouches), cost effectiveness (good turntables/cdjs and mixers have always been way expensive) and the ability to play any set near enough anywhere. Mixing in key gives u options and that isn’t cheating really is it

ParticipantI ain’t no “nob rider” Lmfao but I do understand why they do it. It adds drama and mystery to DJin let’s face it lads what we do ain’t hard. Same thing wid card tricks when u learn em its like is that it when some1 does the trick on u its like Wtf, how did u do that?
As for Fx beatmasher on vocals or chords can create some real nice changes. Delay in transitions smoothes out a boring mix. Ttfx I love and the old reverse ttfx combo is Kool for transitions. As always in this game its whatever floats ur boat

ParticipantThe way it reads it sounds like ur using phono instead of line input. Maybe its the way I’m reading it :O

ParticipantDigital DJin has been overpriced for awhile considering what you get for the money both software and hardware. I personally thought the price drop was due to the fact they hadn’t reached their sales targets and were sitting on too many units but dat I can’t prove. Glad for the price drop though as it saved me some dough 🙂
What pisses me off is the dollar price to pound sterling. For some reason in the UK we pay quite a lot more than Americans with no apparent reason………….??

ParticipantS2 has restored my faith in digital djing so big thumbs up from me. Make sure u read through the manual though as u may think u have controls missing but with the shift key u have excellent kontrol over traktor

ParticipantThe S2 has a nice build quality and u can feel it will last. What made me buy the s2 over the 3k was playing with both of them. The s2 felt tight the 3k didn’t feel as tight. Nowadays I know u can update and remap but I don’t have ze time so out the box is what’s important to me. Figure what’s important to you and get ur hands on ze units to test them. out. Make sure u get the S2 before the end of the month though or ur paying full price

ParticipantOh btw just got one for 325 UK pounds which is why I’m buzzing on NI. I jumped across to digital since April last year struggled with slow jogwheel problems on my mixtrack pro since may last year. As dis is my full-time job and I liked Traktor thought I’d get a MacBook and an S2 got em both for £625 and its ze best thing I’ve done equipment wise. S2 has got everything that i need for Traktor covered. My I3 windows and virtual dj are perfect for the strip clubs dat I play at week days but MacBook, Traktor and the S2 offers a nice djin solution and I can understand y people sing all three’s praises.

Participantat the price it is now NOTHING comes close to the s2. Ur getting a very nicely built controller for mixtrack pro money if u look at it one way and take ze cost of traktor out. Nothing feels as good in Traktor out the box either so if u wanna use Traktor get ze hardware of the people dat make it
