I usually do around TWELVE hours every St Patricks day between a couple of clubs, it’s a proper marathon and can be quite confusing trying to makesure I don’t play a tune twice in the same venue!

As for the shortest, I got booked for Brixton Police Christmas Party one year and simply had to press play on a cd they had prepared for me as the setlist for the stripper they had booked…………..best thing was my DJ box was about 12 feet above her giving me a birds-eye view of the entertainment that night, AND I got her number ;)………………….Also got my full price wage…..RESULT!

I read the review at the time but glad you linked it cos it’s reminded me on some bits I had forgotten. I have to wait a couple of weeks until it’s in stock for Ireland but can’t wait to get my hands on them!

I’m not great at the technical side of this as I have only DJ’d a few times using a laptop, on my trainee’s Hercules decks, so i’m sure I will be asking for alot more advice from you guys when they arrive 😉

Nice one mate. Gotta say I bought a pair of KAM’s when I was 16 but the instant start was terrible and so my first club had the old Denon mk2000 (I think)……….that was it for me! Moved up to the DN-9000 which I own now and have never had a problem which is why I am almost shaking with excitement at the chance of gettin these DN-MC 6000’s……..be a relief to cut out the thousands of cd’s I currently use

95% of my career has been playing mainstream clubs and I can assure you there is a skill involved because alot of DJ’s lose the crowd very easily by getting complacent and just bangin on any tune from a list they have probably printed out at random. I personally have got loads of satisfaction out of dropping a few mini-sets of quality throughout the night. Watch the smiles on the faces when you drop a couple of motown classics…….or the pure surprise when you drop a few drum ‘n’ bass tunesbetween Kelis & Girls Aloud lol.

You can still get a buzz and be inventive in these out of the ordinary gigs mate 😉

Looking like the Denon DN-MC6000’s if you guys recommend in my other thread.

Hey guys and girls, I’m Colm Gallagher (Living Legend Colm G is my DJ name) and I’ve been DJ’ing since 1997 in London. Mainly commercial bars and clubs but have done loads of private functions & weddings etc. As I said it’s mainly been commercial UK chart music but along the way I’ve mixed it up by doing oldie nights…..Classic club tune nights and have been known to do a lot of Irish nights, (hence my self-proclaimed “London’s No.1 Irish DJ” monkier). I have actually just moved to Ireland so have not been gigging alot for the first time in years. Hoping to get a residency soon……………Glad to be here to share my knowledge (limited) and learn from everyone else 😉
