MemberJust a question guys.. Is BPM THAT good and worth it? I’m flying down from Aberdeen and gonna cost a fair bit so want it to be worth it.. And ill have a trip to HTFR..
Liambo
MemberIt’s going to be good for people who want a top quality name but cannot afford a top quality name. So i think it will be a little success..
As for me my next upgrade is CDJ2000s 🙂

MemberWhy not just go onto beatport and trackitdown etc and find some music that you may find some good warm up tracks, or listen to DJ sets on Dancetrippin.tv or something?
It’s hard to tell you ‘some good warm up’ tracks because what i play at 11.30pm at my commercia weekend residency in the warm up is what i may play main set in my underground weekend residency at 2.00am. So it can vary mate 🙂

MemberWhat Guetta does, he does well.
I play to a crowd of 500-900 people every Friday and Saturday and doesn’t matter if it’s his older stuff like ‘Love is Gone’ or ‘Little Bad Girl’ when ever i drop a Guetta track it raises the roof.
I’m not a fan of commercial music but i play it every weekend will admit he’s changed the scene quite a bit (in the UK anyways).

Some things never change 😉

MemberTrance better not dominate the whole top 10 again because as far as im aware house/tech-house has dominated the likes of Ibiza, UK, Germany and Holland etc this year..
1. Chris Lake
2. Pete Tong
3. Carl Cox
4. Roger Sanchez
5. Tom NovyAll decided on who i enjoy watching as a DJ performance, song selection and crowd interaction.
*This all may change*

He showed me that for the price of a decent mac, you can have a laptop built for the same price that is 2-3 times better than the mac which made me think, is the mac just a style thing or a must have for DJs? Or is it acceptable by high upper class DJs to DJ on a pc that is just a good or better performance wise?
It really is down to preference and yes Macs are slightly overpriced for what they are. But for that price most DJ’s have the peace of mind of realiability compared to a windows based system.. Macs aren’t perfect and do crash and freeze etc but people find them more reliable than windows as said.
Its also down to budget and comfort. But another thing was that i have had a mac for 5 years and it still runs smooth and strong, i had a very high spec windows based laptop and it got shit on after 3 years.

MemberHowitzer, post: 4780 wrote: No, no. Sorry, that was a response to liambo about the BPM readout being all over the shop. This used to happen in traktor 2 with turntables on timecode. It doesnt relate to the X1 controller in any way. I would happily DJ with 2 X1’s, a mixer and no timecode if necessary.
Im aware of the whole fluctuation thing and know fine that BPM will never be stable, and i don’t need it to be stable as i come from a vinyl background so im used to ‘adjusting’ all the time. I just found it irritating that it fluctuates up and down more than it does in TSP1.. Catches my eye too much when selecting songs and looking at time etc. 🙂

MemberIv been using Spotify for about 3 years now and its a life changer! I listen to the majority of my music through it at work now.
I haven’t bought the paid subscription because i seriously wouldn’t get the use of it even though i use it all the time.. But i have noticed when i first started using it the adverts only used to appear once an hour for about 2 minutes, now they are every 10-15 minutes!
