MemberPersonally I like the Mixtrack Pro, especially as it gives you the option to use Serato Intro in addition to the usual programs.

MemberIntro v1.0.4 is now available to download. It adds support for the Pioneer Ergo as well as minor tweaks to other controllers (the “Stutter” buttons on the Mixtrack Pro are now mapped to “CUP”, for example).

DJ Sy?

MemberI think it depends on the bundled software. The models that ship with Virtual DJ have the top buttons mapped as hot cues, while the ones that ship with Traktor LE have them mapped as EQ kills as I don’t think Traktor LE supports hot cues (I use Traktor Pro so I can’t remember).

MemberTrue.

MemberThe second set of RCAs on the Mixtrack Pro only output the phones mix. You cant send deck A to RCA 1 and deck B to RCA 2 without sacrificing your headphone cue.

MemberWhat’s your opinion on the platters between the two, iceman?
Lew
MemberNo, it only works with the Mixtrack Pro. It won’t work with any controller without a built-in soundcard.

I’ve looked a bit into the VCI-300, but it seems to have bad (faulty) sound card…
I’m pretty sure I read that that problem was fixed in the MK2 version.

Funnily enough, from a video done by the bloke from DJing for Dummies. 😀

and is having tracktor telling you bpm of a song cheating and something i should learn on my own?
It’s not cheating at all. Lots of traditional DJs note down the BPM of their songs on the sleeves or labels of their records. Unless you’re using sync you’ll still have to beatmatch even if you do know the BPMs.
