On my desktop I ve simulated and older and less capable CPU.
I ve disabled 2 cores and put the 2 cores at 2ghz instead of 3.4 that originally are
4 decks and recording and effects i see the usage not over 25-30% thats why I believe that the i3 will handle it.
Alsothe ram usage stays low and on the laptop the rendering will be done in HD ready resolution.
