What excites me most about digital DJing is the whole discussion about it :p
But ok, digital DJing has two aspects as I see it.
It enables people who do not really have a clue about mixing or music to produce reasonable mixes at low cost but it also expands the possibilities for those who want more than 2-deck mixing, use of effects etc and want to take all their music with them without having to drag crates with vinyl or bags full of CD pouches to their gigs.
Personally I play both digital and CD and in my home-setup I sometimes combine those two: I have 4 Pioneer CDJ 500S’s and a laptop running Traktor Pro 2.6 with a Vestax TR-1 as controller.
It all goes into my A&H Xone 464 mixer with Korg Kaosspad MK1, Alesis AirFX and Behringer Virtualizer on the AUX ports.
I cannot carry all this equipment with me all the time but I can also not get the same functionality on just my laptop.
So it is all about choices and as I can choose the best of both worlds I do not understand why people can get all exited about a certain method of DJing while excluding another.
