    Hey again,

    the light versions are enough to use the controller properly. Of course there is always something above, but I think for this kind of hardware, it fits.
    Yes, they are compatible to other softwares, but maybe you have to create a mapping then. You can quickly find out by just visiting the softwares’ websites and looking for compatible devices.

    Hello,

    Buying the first controller always seems to be difficult and it is.

    I personally recommend the Pioneer DDJ-SB2/ -RB since it has got a very good build quality and promises a proper use, especially together with Rekordbox DJ.
    Hercules is no good choice to be honest. My first controller was a Hercules Air and it was enough to just testing DJing out, but you quickly recognize that the effort, the engineers put into the developing of the controller and especially the software itself, is not that high.

    But what I always say: The world of DJing does not have to start with Pioneer and does not have to end with Pioneer.
