I see it’s more common than I thought to combine the website and blog, it seems to be a great concept! I also like that you have a LOT of content on your site! Only thing constructive I can say is that at first I didn’t notice the icons at the top with search, iTunes and so on. But on the other hand I wasn’t really looking for them so maybe it’s all good as it is… π
Thanks! I’m already looking into a replacement idea for the icons. They were carried over from the previous design.

MemberI have the NS6 and Serato Itch does not detect the controller. It’s a known issue apparently. I ended up having to buy a Mac Mini that had Lion and just use it as a dedicated machine for my mixing.

MemberA little late to this thread, but I make my mixes on the fly and post them on my site: http://justpressrecord.com/
Also just started up a weekly radio show, also on my site: http://justpressrecord.com/radio/hump-day-bumps-show/

MemberI normally play funky/deep house, and hip hop. I’ll occasionally do funk mixes, but not too often.

MemberI just upgraded from the Vestax Spin a few months ago to the Numark NS6, and it’s sick. I can highly recommend it. I was debating between the NS6 and the S6, and it came down to the feel of the jog wheels for me.

MemberI spend most of my time on Soundcloud listening to mixes. I go to mixcrate sometimes too.

MemberI remember being in high school and making mixtapes by recording CD’s and radio tracks on to cassette tapes, and trying to pause the recording where I knew the next track could come in nicely. I also used to make a lot of mix CD’s for friends. I loved it. What pushed me over the edge was going back to college after summer break, and my roommate (out of nowhere) had bought one turntable and a crappy mixer. That pushed me over the edge to buy another deck, a good mixer, and tons of records.
Other DJ’s have always inspired me though. 75% of the time I’m listening to music, it’s either one of my mixes, or other DJ mixes that I find. It gives me tons of ideas on how I can better my own craft.

MemberThanks for the tips. I tried out Nicecast a while back, and it wasn’t too bad. And I gave Mixlr a run last night which worked really well. Maybe that’s all I’m looking to do, something really simple that I can broadcast to people on a weekly basis. I’m going to keep trying out other options though.

MemberThis is my home setup. Nothing too crazy. I just upgraded to the NS6, from the Vestax Spin.

MemberI’ve always want to go to this, but haven’t had the chance. I won’t be there this year, but I might strongly consider it next year since all of my favorite DJ’s are there.

MemberI keep most of my tunes on an external drive. I also have a big folder of music on my laptop, but it’s synced with Dropbox. I’m paranoid that my computer might crash and me lose all my music…. so that’s why I keep it on an external.
