Thank you for your opinion, as for the Ethernet cable, I hope it will work soon for you.
For me, I’m using windows so no problems there, and I share your opinion completely.
I’m (going to be) using my RX for 2 purposes, ‘digital dance DJ’ and ‘wedding DJ’.
The first digital dance DJ is why I want the RX so bad, get fully integrated in the Rekordbox workflow, the knobs, effects everything! Here I’ll be playing with only usbs and that it, brilliant!

However the Wedding DJ ‘part of me’ was slightly concerned by the (not so poor after all) search options.
The Mixtrack had a rotating knob wich indeed worked quite nice though I never really used it a lot.
The search function of the VMS controller itself is as bad as it will ever get, a very tiny touch pad.
You could move 2cm on your screen when fully from left to right, and the deck load ‘buttons’ were touch too but never worked…
As a result of that, I always used mouse and keyboard ever since.

To cut a long story short, this or next week I’ll be heading to a store to try out the RX for both purposes.
Now I have a very clear vision on how things work, what is possible and what is not.

So, thank you all for replying!

Thank you all for this helpful feedback!
I already was quite convinced to buy the RX, that only increased.

Jedisinclair13, the price indeed is already a very good reason to buy the RX over the 1000,
and as DJ Vintage says (I already feared that) makes good sense not to say it in advance.
Todd Oddity you make a valid point too as I am taking it on the road, not too often but I do.
My current VMS with flightcase is quite heavy ~20kg) and the RX with flightcase is even a bit heavier.
So taking the 1000’s with me makes no sense considering the small advantages over the RX.
Now, Jason Ross, I’m actually very curious what your experience is when using Pro-Link to search a huge database on your laptop.
I love Rekordbox too, but some people state that using the one rotating knob to search a big library is a down side…
Have you tried that, and what is your opinion on this one?
