    Just to update you, I went ahead and bought the Platinum version of Whitecap (also by SoundSpectrum) only to find out it is for “Personal / Non-commercial Use”.  I am in talks with them right now to find out how much the Commercial version cost as they do not post it on their website.

    Also, Whitecap even as a standalone was not able to “hear” the music I was playing through Virtual DJ.  To get it to work I had to split my line out of the computer and reroute the sound back into the Line In so that Whitecap could hear it.  Worked fine after that, just made the connections a little more complex.

    I have not tried this for DJing, but I do know there are stand-alone visualizations you can buy that can listen to the audio on your computer and do not need to be run through i-tunes, media player, etc.  One I would probably use is G-Force by Soundspectrum.  You would have to buy their Platinum version which is $30 to be able to use it as a standalone application.  Link below…
