Aha! I think I may have found a workable solution!
What I wasn’t aware of is that you can drop multiple beat marker points along your track, essentially allowing you to chop up your tunes into different segments – which means you can use the left/right beat grid adjustment tool to move the grid *within* that segment and not affect the rest of the track and its already-set beat grid.
I have just “fixed” my Yousef track with the extra beat marker and apart from the single “lazy” beat I now stayed lock on my beat grids when mixing through this section of the track. Woot!
In theory if you had the time and patience you could do this for some older tracks that require a lot more maintenance.
I am sure I did not see this in anyone else’s tutorials so perhaps this could be handy hint for others!
