Tell you what, I went with the Pioneer and am absolutely delighted with it. Coming from a vinyl background I think this unit wins in recreating that feel of spinning vinyl. It’s not plasticky at all, feels very solid in use, in fact I found most other controllers far more ‘Fisher Price’ . I can see why people who want to mess about with the music would prefer the S4, but I just want a replacement to my Technics set up and I honestly don’t see why I would want to mess around / mess up a piece of music that someone has spent a long time creating – but that’s another discussion entirely!;)

Thanks Chris, nice tip and they are all showing a nice fat 1411kbps. 😀

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for being a numpty but just to clarify – when I import to itunes from my download folder, I can then ‘right click’ well, two finger click on my Macbook actually, and add details including artist name, song title, genre etc. is this what’s meant by metadata and if so how come I can add it to my imported files if they are still wav?

I was playing an early morning slot in London, following on from the main guest Terry Francis, and decided to slow things down a bit… I played ‘Why’ by Carley Simon and completely misjudged the crowd, or at least one dude in the crowd – he took great offence to this record (which I still think is a quality track btw), marched on to the stage and tipped a pint over the deck playing the record.. I just stood there thinking wtf??!!
