Well no you can control the stems similar to a S5 as by using shift and the loop encoders you can adjust volume and filter. It’s not like having a S8 but still it gives you some control. If he has a S4 already I would check out the mapping and go from there.

But with the discount NI are offering it may be a good time to get a pair of D2’s

Idj pro from Numark should be a consideration. I had one abs thought it was great. I have a Beatpad 2. If you want to use Djay software then always get the most suitable controller to go with it such as idj pro or beatpad. I had a Traktor s2 mk2 With Traktor pro. It was great with Traktor pro but rubbish with everything else. That’s my input.

What about a Numark idj pro? Slightly more but integrates with djay 2 and djay pro very well. Just something to think about. Numark and pioneer will both be a decent controller fir you as well.

Hope it works out for you Tyler. Both the Numark and the Akai are both branded towards Serato. Will that be your software of choice or are you going to exoeriment. Iv only used Traktor and now Algariddam Djay Pro for IPad (which I love). What your planning on buying is a cool set up. Iv has cdjs and djm combo and to be honest it was cool to look at but I didn’t really maximise it properly. Then I got a S4 from NI and I got into the controller thing and I love controllers better. I have now just bought a Beatpad 2 and it’s a great bit of kit as I just love playing old skool at home and I love the Spotify integration. For my needs and likes its perfect. Oh by the way I grew up in Doncaster. Remember the BYO? Back in the day that lad. 🙂

Any feedback as I’m looking at purchasing in a day or two. Just waiting for the retailer to get back to me regarding my returned unit.

I got a 2010 MacBook Pro for £300 from cash converters. You can make offers online. Keep a look out for good deals and make an offer. Offer 20% less and go from there until they accept your offer.

I did have the idj pro recently and I thought it worked well with djay 2 and player pro. The sound wasn’t conning through my headphones so I had to send that unit back too. This has all lead me too the Beatpad. Is there anyone here who has has the Beatpad 1 or 2 and could help me to decide if it’s worth getting the two over the one.
