ParticipantGreetings Phil,
Are the stantons generally good all round controllers? by that I mean build quality and particularly jogwheels? Will you be reviewing that DJC.4 model? I presume its mapped for VDJ 7 and TP? I am seriously considering the VCI-300 although that means sacrificing all the other wants just becuase i value jogwheels so much.

ParticipantThanks for the advice, really useful and makes a lot of sense, i never thought about the VCI-300 because of the age of the controller and the lack of effects, but like you said if there is an available effects unit. Has the VCI 300 not been dis-continued?

ParticipantIve been running VDJ Pro 7 on my 6/7 year old intel core duo 2…3 gb ram ive had no problems so far, although you should always consider adjusting internal laptop settings such as power plan when djing and various background procceses that dont need to run when your using your softwre.

ParticipantI think your right about waiting, i used to have a numark mixtrack pro but outgrew it very quickly, i even djed out with it a few times which was fun using VDJ as well, however, im always open to new software providing the controller is tightly integrated with the software. Patience is the key at the moment….thanks for your prompt advice….

ParticipantYe I had a look at those but like u said, well over my bugdet, im waiting for the Reloop Terminal Mix 2 to be released, if it gets good reviews and its within my bugdet then thats the one. Ive been using VDJ which is fine for me but i liked the simplicity of serato, i may end up just sticking with VDJ if I can find what im looking for, i know i can probably get into mapping but i dont want to get to involved in all of the mappping due to my really heacy workload, i just wanna plug and play.

ParticipantWow thanks for the swift reply,
I had fun with the mixtrack pro but i want something that is a step up in build quality and features such as Gain Controls and possibly VU metering and booth out. Im not to bothered about sticking with VDJ, I WOULD MUCH RATHER THE controller decide which software I should use.

ParticipantThats an interesting analogy, i never though of it way,,,thanks for your kindand wise words too.

ParticipantThanks for the very kind words, i will keep you posted on my comeback!

Participantthanks for that, i will give it a try next time, if im honest the cue gain on the controller isnt that good, the master gain has to be cracnked up to the absolute limit to get a decent volume in the headphones although it also depends on how loud the booth speakers are. Anyway once again thnks for your advice. jahitty
