ParticipantDon’t worry about Facebook too much, it’s actually more of a secondary thing to get done. Focus on your mixcloud because that’s by far more important than anything for online work. It takes time so don’t try and rush it. Listen to other people’s work, comment on it, follow them and then you’ll get people listening to your stuff in return. Give a bit, take a bit you know? Just keep pushing and it should eventually come, it’s hard work even just online.

ParticipantI went in with fairly low expectations and was amazed! Never seen Groove, I’ll have to check it out.

ParticipantNot a huge TV guy, but I do watch Top Gear almost every single day.
Shows I’m actually working on include
Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
The Sopranos
FMA: BrotherhoodBest movie I’ve seen recently was Lawless and in the theaters, Silver Linings Playbook was suprisingly good.

Planks + deadlifts = strong core + good dj posture = no sore back = win

ParticipantIt’s all about your positioning. If you arch your back and hunch over your gear your back will inevitably hurt no matter how fit you are. Watch some of the pro DJs, they bend at hips and stick their ass out rather than arch their back. Trust me, you’ll be able to have way more stamina this way. I’m 6’4” and even at home my back gets sore where everything is perfect to my level, now imagine low DJ booths.
Just be sure to keep good posture, shoulders back and bend at hips. Also invest in some good shoes with proper soles, anything to keep you going longer.

ParticipantI only put in ‘no’ because Calvis Harris has always been cheesy, it’s just that Top 40 is now the cheese he’s always made.

ParticipantYou can do more than one, there’s no rules. Pick what you’re good at and enjoy, do that.

2nd to this
It looks unbelievably fun, the idea of 2-3 djs competing for fans sounds amazing, especially if you don’t know who is listening. It would be mad fun to watch the dance floor to figure out who is in tune with you.

ParticipantIt’s all about who you know and I knew the right guy. Knowing the right person will get you anywhere in life

ParticipantIt’s honestly hilarious, there’s so many alternatives that are much easier than banning traktor. It’s probably gonna bite them in the ass in the end.

ParticipantHey man, I always appreciate the honesty. I find that a solid hour of dark techno, or a solid hour of anything gets boring to me so I like to have a few different feels in a mix. The reason I do a slightly harder opening and then slowing it down right away is to get people into it, give them something to flow on and then really open it up.
It’s not really my fave mix I’ve ever made, been having lots of mental block lately but thanks again!

ParticipantIt’s hard man but I feel you 100%
Last year I got my dream first gig of opening up for my fave dj, I thought I’d be good after that one gig. Needless to say I’ve done nothing but a few patio jams over the summer since. I honestly think in this business you have to be relentless in the prusuit of getting gigs until people really know who you are. Never give up and keep pushing, eventually we’ll get a break and that’s when we show em what we’ve got.

When will people get that these things aren’t important in any way what so ever?
