I think that could be the peak filter.

Hostile ravers? Did you roll up in a police car or something?

Any woman who doesn’t wanna date a DJ because he might cheat is an idiot and should be reminded that business men, rockstars, teachers, government workers, doctors… EVERYONE can cheat! If they reject you because of that she’s worthless in the first place as she should spend more time learning about the person rather than what they do.

You COULD make it legal but it kind of takes away from the fact of it being “underground”. I just caught word of a warehouse rave 3 hours from where I live where they made it legal. Rented out an “abandoned” warehouse and is throwing the event there. They hired 5-0 and are selling tickets to it. I guess it’s still that experience though….

As much as the illegal raves are the best, I’m not risking my ass for it. Enough illegal things goes on at the legal ones anyways so it’s not a big deal, it’s just about being more discreet. That’s the club life.

The two X1s + mixer combo is actually really common from what I see lately especially among techno DJs. Often you’ll see that paired up with an F1 or something else for samples ect…

The X1s are great because they allow the controller DJ to set up anywhere with minimal effort in moving stuff all around the DJ booth which drives the other DJs nuts as well as the sound crew for that particular club. Personally I also like having a jog wheel and the X1 does seem odd to me however if I was in the position where I want my controllers no matter what, that’s the route I’d go.

All I can say is, have fun with these women but also choose wisely. Too many club regulars are just partying away their problems, don’t get caught up in their s**t.

Until he mentions bringing up some vinyl and you’re standing there behind a laptop. Great track though.

That’s how it was all done before the internet happened. Go here, wait for a guy with a green balloon. Don’t talk to him, just follow where he goes. There you’ll meet a man with blue shoes and a backpack, give him $10 get on the school bus.

This mentality boggles my mind, a club I tried to play once tweeted they had 9 DJs! WOW 9 DJs! Like it was a good thing, so glad I didn’t get caught up in that playing 30min sets. Honestly though you seem like you work really hard on this, see if you can try to find somewhere else. These throw as many DJs at the crowd as you can clubs are very lame.

This needs to happen in Canada, preferably Toronto.
*cough* hint *cough* for any Canadians here

Either one it really doesn’t matter as Terry said. Sometimes I’ll apply a smaller reverb to the incoming track if I’m not doing a good mixover to cover it up. It’s cheap but sometimes you gotta do it. Other times I’ll apply it to the outgoing track, it all depends on what the track sounds like, how you’re mixing it ect…. Just experiment and see what works, there are no rules in music.

It’s harder to find the time to DJ while in school however these are the best years of your life to make contacts. During the school year you’ll be very busy but as soon as class is out for the summer people wanna party. That’s your cue to really make things happen through all your connections over the year. Make friends, host parties, make memories.
