Well, the WaveHammer it’s a Compressor+Maximizer packed in a 2-Stage processor. Audacity do have a Maximizer, but it is called “Amplifier” and a Compressor called, err, “Compressor”

Although, Audacity can load some LADSPA plugins (which are similar to VST ones) and you can use the “Barry’s Satan Maximiser”. Pretty nice, but if you tweak the knobs you’ll get a brutal overdose of maximization, and, we don’t want that, right?

So, the user can emulate the WaveHammer by doing a correction with a Compressor and/or Normalizer build in Audacity, and then apply the Amplifier or the “BS Maximizer” and get the sound by ear, but I think it’ll take time to do such a thing.

    Cheers!

A question, Is Izotope Ozone similar to T-racks? (I mean, does it do the same work?)

And about the main question, I sometimes use Audacity on GNU/Linux (specifically LMDE and Linux Mint).

Although, have you tried Steinberg Wavelab? That’s some old and well down software. Another good option is Adobe Audition. Both are for Mac OS X and MS Windows

That’s new for me. That’s why you look like a Teacher when you speak in your videos 🙂
